Phantom wiggling is powerful stuff. I've used it twice with success. Lately I haven't been able to catch the moment I wake up so it doesn't work. If you leap out of your body you will be in a dream. You were already dreaming, and it can happen that fast. You can try rolling, standing, turning, floating, or anything.

People try to assign the word "OBE" to these kind of DEILDs but whatever. I think you saw some of Raduga's videos. He has a mostly scientific approach to lucid dreaming or what he calls "the phase." You can read more of his stuff here.

Ok wow, that clears up so much for me, thanks! I was really confused as to whether you were supposed to be dreaming when you noticed it working, or whether people actually left their bodies while awake (as crazy as that sounds).

That leads to an extremely exciting observation that the WILD's seem extremely reality like and vivid with this technique. Usually if I question whether I'm dreaming in a dream (DILD), I can tell instantly, but with this everything was literally a mirror of reality - I could tell no difference other than my fricken arm moving by itself (trailing like in the video) and feeling like I could leap out of my body.

Trust me, once you "leap from your body" you will notice the difference. Try doing a few RCs, touch and feel stuff, make sure you "deepen" the dream as Raduga calls it. You may not even start in your bed, you could be somewhere completely different (For example, a different bed/couch/room).
