Is 2 weeks long enough to have lost hope?

Just in a certain method? I don't expect to go from finding out about lucid dreaming to doing it in a day, I can wait for it.

But I have been trying ADA for 2 weeks now, with nothing. No change in dreams at all. Not even a gentle slope increase.

Is this long enough to be sure that it won't work for me?

Because right now I'm getting pissed at seeing everyone else join later than me and get lucids.

      I'm jelly.

Want some peanut butter with that jelly?

How long do you ADA for each day, and have you been keeping a dream journal? Try doing a WBTB and then "be aware" for a few minutes before going back to sleep. Also make sure to RC frequently throughout the day on top of that.

I have a 2 month long Dream journal, I ADA for about 5-10 mins in total each day, but its the summer holidays now, so I plan to do it a lot more, well, if I can be convinced that it may still work. I don't really R.C. anymore, as those proved fruitless just as much as ADA so far.
Never got even close to a lucid with R.C. or ADA. It's fucking annoying.

      don't give up ^^
You WILL have a lucid dream if you keep trying
switch up your methods, that is a really good way to get a lucid dream
some people have it easier with LDing than others, I got my first (since I joined DV, I had others before here) after 3 days, others, it take 3 months, or even longer.

I'm going to keep trying, but with this method? Is there still time for it to work? Or should it have shown results sooner? Should I keep it up with other methods, or should I leave ADA altogether?

ADA is a great because you can take little parts out of your day to work on it where as other methods take most time right before and around when you are actually sleeping.

If you want my advice, continue practicing ADA throughout the day and when it comes to bedtime use another method like MILD or WILD or WBTB. ADA my instigate a DILD but the other methods just increase your chances when used in conjunction.

Well... which one then? Should I just try each for a week and see how stuff goes?

There is time for this to work, just switch it up, there is no set criteria how soon or how late someone should have their first LD
keep up ADA, but add in some other techniques

try ADA more as long as you can as much as you can. Add in reality Checks and the MILD technique as you sleep. ADA is great because you can add it with so much other techniques

You All day awareness for 5-10 minutes a day? Dude.... read what you typed and see how much sence that makes. 5-10 minutes of awareness isn't enough to do.... anything. ADA gets its name from.. well, its name. All Day Awareness, not 5MA.

Oh... and it's only been 2 weeks. Dude, you need to try a technique steadily for at least a month before you decide it's not for you.
Sorry if my post seemed sort of blunt, but its the truth. A thing of worth takes time.

ADA has gone from All-day-awareness to Attention-Dedicated-Awareness
It's still pretty good, though increasing the time you spend doing it each day by a few minutes should help.

Anyways, to the OP, Never give up hope. I went a VERY long time before I had my 1st lucid dream. About a year actually. To be honest, 2 days into studying LD's, i had my 1st (and only) induced SP (as far as i can tell, only one that really felt like SP)
I've had about 4 actual LD"s since then, but it's been over the course of about 2 and 1/2 years. So 2 weeks? Not the best time you should be giving up at.
"Courage is the magic that turns dreams into reality."

I'm not going to add an LD count because I sort of don't keep count. I've had about 2-3 WILDs... i think and one or two DILDS.

You must slowly increase your ADA. Start with doing it a few times during the day, then a few hours. And then finally, try and have as much awareness throughout the day as possible. It takes time, and two weeks defiantly is not enough time. Some people just have quicker results than others. So dont lose hope, and just know with practice comes success.
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

I agree. Change it up, try more than one, try them all, but don't give up... ADA is something I just recently (within the past few days) started trying, and I find it very hard to stay focused but I also think it's a great technique not just for lucid dreaming but for life in general if you can keep upping the time you spend on it.

no you shouldn't give up I've had 11 lucids over the last month and have yet to obtain my dream goal but i press on until my expectations are met to my 100% satisfaction. All day awareness sounds like a great technique but i do feel when your starting out you should also try wbtb for a few days because the only effort on your part is to get up at the appropriate time then go back to sleep. all my lucids last month were wake back to beds. Also if u can try sleeping in a reclining chair at 120 to 130 degree angle(slightly tilt back) with a pillow on your neck and back. This will prop u up as if your looking straight forward much like u do when your awake and walking around except that your comfortable enough to go to sleep. I did this sitting technique last night and i was very close to becoming lucid. namaste. :-)

Ok, I won't give up on it just yet. I am actually almost 3 weeks into it, which is one weeks short of a month. It's just hard to keep going with something that hasn't done SQUAT for me so far, plus it's difficult.

I will keep at it until I have been doing it for a month. If nothing by then, I'm going to ditch it for a while and focus on WBTB. That method seems to have a lot of followers, plus it's easy for me now as it's the summer holidays so I don't have to get up early for anything.

You pissed in the bath? Lol, I'm joking, you mean bathroom. The bath is an actual thing in the bathroom.
