SOBT / Regular Lucid Dreams tutorial.

First of all, IT'S NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT. I want to say that this method is working for me. I have tryed almost every possible thing written on the forum and it gave me minimal results. I have had a lot of Lucid Dreams using techniques I am going to mention, and it will work for you. The only mistake is not listening and acting on your own, thinking something like: "I can change this and I can do that".

SOBT (School Out of Body travel) is a free book written by Michael Raduga. There is a thread about this book already (http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/how-ha...t-wild-106427/), but since people are lazy and don't want to read it (the book) I am going to summarize SOBT in this thread.

Things you have to know (everything is according to the book):

*Lucid Dreams and OBEs are one and the same. Lucid Dream is entering "that world" via becoming counscious in a dream and OBE is entering "that world" via seperating from your body.
*To make it easier, author came up with his own name for the phenomenan - Phase. That's how I am going to call it from now on.
*Phase can be entered using 3 methods:
      1. Indirect techniques (it's DEILD to you)
      2. Direct techniques (WILD to you)
      3. Becoming counscious in a dream (MILD or DEILD to you)
      * The easiest method is Nr. 1 (indirect techniques) , so I am going to talk only about it. If you want to know more about other methods download free e-book. Even thou Nr.2 and Nr.3 are only used if Nr. 1 is not working out for you (but it will).

      What are the indirect techniques?

Basically, it's the same as DEILD, but a little bit more advanced. Indirect techniques consist of few steps (after writting steps down, I will explain them in more details) :

      1. Waking up after 6 hours of sleep (WBTB for you).

This is done, because your sleep at early morning is a lot lighter and REM periods last longer, so it's A LOT easier to achieve Phase.

      2. Stay awake for 5 - 45 minutes.

It depends on how much time you need to become not too sleepy, but not too awake. For example, I stay only 5 minutes, because I wouldn't fall asleep again, if I were to stay awake longer.

      3. Go back to bed with an intention that you will wake up after few hours and will not move.

While staying awake tell yourself a mantra "In few hours, I will catch myself awake and I will not open my eyes or move my body". if it's too long, you can make your own, but it must include "catching yourself awake". Think about your mantra while trying to fall sleep too, because it will induce your chances to succeed.

      4. Wake up without moving.

This is the hardest part and it may take few tries to accomplish. You shouldn't move or open your eyes after awakening. if you succeeded, you are almost in the phase. But if you moved or open your eyes, you MUSTN'T go back to sleep without trying techniques. It will not be as easy, but you still have chances to enter the phase after performing "forced falling asleep" technique, which will be explained later.

      5. Perform techniques.

There are too many techniques to describe all of them, but some techniques may work for you and some may not, so you have to try and chose.

To give you better understand of what I am talking about, let me quote one of the techniques:
      Testing Individual Effectiveness
Immediately after waking from sleep, remain motionless, eyes closed. Observe the blank space behind the eyes for 3 to 5 seconds and try to locate recognizable pictures, images, or symbols. If nothing appears during this exercise, the technique should be substituted. If something appears, continue to passively observe the images. Meanwhile, the images will become increasingly realistic, literally enveloping the practitioner. Do not aggressively examine the details of the image, or it will vanish or change. The image should be experienced as a panorama, taking everything in. Observe the images as long as the quality and realism increases. Doing so yields two possible results: the practitioner becomes part of the surroundings, and has achieved the phase, or the image becomes borderline or absolutely realistic, and separation from the physical body is possible.

      Training
To train the use of this technique, lie down in the dark, eyes closed, and observe the blackness for several minutes, identifying any specific images that may arise from simple spots or floaters, and then gradually transition to whole pictures, scenes, or scenarios. With practice, this technique is very easy and straightforward. A common mistake made during practice of this technique is when the practitioner aggressively attempts to conjure images versus passively observing what is naturally presented.
      From SOBT.

It would take too much time to write all of them down, so PLEASE press ont this link Free ebooks on Out-of-Body Experience (OBE) and Lucid Dreaming and press on "Download FULL version for FREE" and read at least chapter 2 which goes from page 17 to page 54. It's not a lot and it is worth it. You will be able to read about every step in a lot more details and explanations.

      6. Do deepening/maintaining and enjoy the phase.

Deepening is done to make your phase have better quality. From very blury to realistic as real life and even better. Maintining is done to make your phase last a lot longer. From few seconds to 10+ minutes.

      Deepening:
There are a lot of ways to deepen your phase and most of them are described in this forum. You must touch, smell, everything around. Listen to your surroundings or your own voice. I do this: Rub my hands and focus on the sensation made by rubbing, touching everything around and focus on the sensations I feel when touching, look at something from very close distance and focus on very small details (you can use your hands)

      Maintaining:
It's almost the same as deepening, but a lot of people forget to do it. When acting in your phase, be very active, touch everything around, focus on small details. It's like being very aware of your surroundings.

      IMPORTANT NOTES:

*DO NOT TRY THIS MORE THAN 2 - 4 TIMES PER WEEK, or you will get dry spell. Don't worry, if you pratice regularly, phase entry, on the days you are not trying, will be achieved without any efforts, usually, throu becoming cousncious in a dream.
*If you practice indirect techniques, almost 1 out of 3 phase experiences you get, will be achieved while becoming counscious in a dream.
*Self confidence is VERY important. If you think that you won't do it, you probably won't. That's how it is.
*I created this thread only because I want to share it with you, even thou some people on the forum already know these methods. If you disagree with something mentioned above, feel free to don't read it.

      insideout and vusiliyk like this.
      My opinion:
*Lucid Dreams, OBEs, Astral Projections are one and the same.
*There are no levels of lucidity. Quality changes if you apply some deepening.
*Lucid Dreams do not last more than 20 minutes.
      *Wolves are beautiful.
