Question Waking up after each dream

      Hey guys
Recently I've been working on improving my recall as is recommended with most induction methods, however I've hit a bump and I was wondering if this was a normal thing or not. I seem to wake up after every dream I have, remembering little fragments of each totalling to around 3-5 a night, as opposed to what I used to have which was one long vivid lucid that I remembered more of.

Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated

After working on my recall I found the same thing as you - I generally wake up after most of my dream cycles, at first I get a solid 3-4 hours sleep and then wake every hour and a half from then on until morning.

As it should be - my dreams get clearer and more vivid the closer to morning it becomes. With effort though you will be able to remember full dreams at each awakening during the night, it shouldn't take too long at all

How did you start waking after every sleep cycle? Did it just happen, or by technique?

Well I've been working on the SAT if you are familiar with that for the past week or so now, and I've been integrating WBTBs into my MILDs. I don't have any intention of waking up though, it just seemed to start happening a few days ago

It seems you are just more aware of when you wake up now, as everyone wakes up during the night.

Everyone wakes up after every sleep cycle (and thus after each dream). Most people just fall back asleep within a few seconds without realizing that they have woken up. It is actually a good thing that you became aware of it. It gives opportunities to reconfirm mantra's, write in your DJ, WBTB-WILD, DEILD, ... There's something in it for every technique

Since you are waking so often during a night, maybe you could check THIS LINK, as this method could be of use for you.

      Please bear with me .

There are indeed lighter sleep that follows REM sleep. You can awaken in that light sleep and recall dreams. I'm in the same boat - I wake up after each dream. Using a couple sleep tracking apps - Zeo EEG headband and my own Lucid Dreaming App, I was able to investigate what's happening.

On the attached screenshot, Green markers are dream awakening. Black marker is bedtime. There are 4 dreams reported during sleep cycles #2,3,4 and 5, with morning awakening at the end of sleep cycle 5.

Using Zeo, I was able to investigate the REM timings of each sleep cycles. Green high bars is when Zeo thinks i'm in REM. According to this, the REM continues after the awakening. This means I can try to DEILD or WILD after you wake up from your dream, if Iskip wring the dream in a dream journal. The fragments that you remember may mean that you wake up after the first segment of a longer REM episode.

Here's a full article: Breakthrough: Singularity Experience Data compared with EEG data - Lucid Dreaming App » Lucid Dreaming App

Here's my own version of the sleep cycle graph. It also has 4 markers, maybe from the same day. Bright green is when I think REm is happening. Different shade of green indicates probability of vivid dreaming. Bright green is most vivid dreaming, while blue is high probability of dream recall upon awakening. Each marker is color coded with brighter color indicating more clarity and dream content recalled, while darker marker indicates more fragmented recall with average clarity.

I don't wake at all, what does that mean? Or do i wake just i don't remember it? Why is my memory and awareness so incy wincy whenever i go to bed... Its not what i want, yet its happening, you guys seem like you are over-riding your own biology but i have no idea how.

@OP I think you have something unique there and many ppl would envy such a setup, i guess that it will help you in the future to have more lucids, as long as you feel fine with doing that , if it were me i would had thought i'd feel groggy every morning after.

You can tell if you wake up or not by tracking your sleep. Chances are you become more active in light sleep stages, but do not regain full consciousness, like the OP. The term for these are "micro" awakenings, which are normal, and are normally forgotten.

You wake up a few times during the night, like after a dream ends, however most of the time people will fall back asleep and forget about it. If you notice when you wake up during the night often, I recommend you look into the FILD and DEILD techniques, they could benefit you immensely and are perfect for people like you. FILD happens to be the most reliable technique for me, however I've had some problems noticing when I wake up. The first time I wanted to try it I did it perfectly, but it dosent happen as often for me anymore. If you can give any tips for how you did this it would be great, from what you said it seems like you only worked on improving recall though?

do you recommend that i buy some hardware to track my sleep? Is this a step closer to having lucids and a more fullfilled life? I seek Lucid dreams because i seek fullfillment, freedom and understanding of myself. Perhaps investing some money into this is worthwhile.

And psychiatry looks at both physical and mental aspects of the human condition, not like psychology only looking at the mental, so nerrr fOrceez and trust me I definitely need some form of medicine . .
(don't quote me on that, like the rest of the stuff I say it's probably nonsense)
d3nd3 and siuol, I didn't really specifically work on anything in particular related to waking up during sleep cycles, the only work i've been doing lately is on SAT (spontaneous awareness technique) , search it on here, I'm sure it's buried somewhere and it helped me immensely

Also I have an update for what's been happening over the last few days, wondering if you guys had any views on it. Basically last night I woke up a few times as I seem to regularly now and attempted a DEILD. After lying perfectly still and closing my eyes I seemed to fall back asleep, except Instead of falling unconscious as with normal sleep I found myself staring into a great white plain, not blindingly bright but a great amount of well . . white . I felt myself floating upwards as I was lying on my back, however as always with my luck I decided to do something stupid and opened my eyes, literally opening my physical eyes and returning me to my bedroom, the floating feeling completely gone.
Sorry if that came across completely jumbled and cryptic but I'm generally not very good with words

Any views or comments would be appreciated as always

Sounds like you were doing great :O The trick to DEILD is a combination of laying perfectly still and going into a free-floating state of mind (you notice your thoughts, but you don't know what they are saying. It's pretty much like seeing a flow or text but not recognizing or trying to recognize them). The hard thing with that is that you need to stay aware while not recognizing the thoughts. It takes some time to figure it out, but it is certainly useful. And I agree, SAT is a great technique.

Ah finally someone else that knows SAT, now I don't sound like a mad raving loony person
I don't remember getting any text or images other than the whiteness
I think the best way to describe it is like the loading program from the Matrix, you know the big empty white space they inhabit before loading a program?

I meditated before i went to sleep , and i was waiting there for what seemed an eternity .. my mental state was changing, everything was becoming black and my sense of body disappearing completely. I felt warm inside and all sounds from the external world were sounded much different to me, like deeper and distorted. But i got eventually unpatient and doubting that anything was happening to me besides relaxation... So then i curled up under my blankets and relaxed all my neck muscles etc, that way my body went to sleep like normal. I did dream a lot but my dreams are so confusing that its a headache to try and recall all of it
