When I was about 12, I used to have lucid dreams a couple times a week. As a teenager, I had them a couple times a month. Now, I'm 28, and I haven't had a lucid dream in over 2 years! Not for lack of trying, for sure! I take my B complex and Ginko, eat cheese before bed, do reality checks during the day, listen to isochronic and binaural sounds meant to help with OBEs and LDs, write my dreams down when I wake up, wear my Nova Dreamer to bed without taking it off... Nothing seems to work for me. In fact, last night, I did EVERY SINGLE ONE of those steps mentioned, had a dream in which I explained to someone what lucid dreaming is, why it's so cool, and what the function of my Nova Dreamer is, and I STILL didn't "wake up." |

Try deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. When you feel yourself beginning sleep onset visualize yourself in a scene (possibly the last dream that you recall having) . Imagine yourself moving through the dreamscape. This, I have found, can lead to some pretty amazing non-REM lucid dreaming. Good luck to you! |

Your taking more of a external approach. There is no A your here B your there with lucid dreaming. Go internal! You want to look into atleast 30mins meditation before bed dream journaling and combine them with Wbtb, dild, and deild. You'll notice that you'll have better recall and vivid dreams, which will prepare you to go lucid in the near future. Lucid dreaming is not something that happens overnight ( no pun intended) it requires some mental prep work before hand. namaste. *fasting during the day and eating dinner earlier in the evening before bed helps with lucid dreaming. you will feel lighter in thought and less weighed down by the foods you intake by the time you perform wbtb or dild.* |

Maybe your problem is that you try to hard with too many things? Maybe when you try to many things at once you get overloaded or confused to a certain degree, and your brain just can't work with it all? |

Awareness is a very important part of LDing - after all, being lucid is essentially just being aware within the dream! Work on slowing down every once in a while and doing a reality check, then looking around you and reasoning out why you aren't, or are, dreaming. This is the best way to induce DILDs. The NovaDreamer and other devices will gve you a cue that you're dreaming, but if you're not aware enough to notice the cue in the first place, they're fairly obsolete. |
