Loosing lucidity in the middle of a dream

Sorry that I still haven't written my last lds/dreams in the computer, so I'll narrow down:

After successful MILD, I became lucid instantly in a middle of a dream. I remember looking at the people and thinking "better I go away, I don't wanna follow the plot or I'll loose lucidity". So I flew and flew feeling great while I thought "what a sense of freedom, this is exactly what mancon told me to go for". Then I rubbed my hands to keep clarity, and came back to perform ToTM (think it's what I wanted to do can't really remember was such a long dream), I did a reality check and it failed, and I think I lost lucidity, while dream kept going.

Is it normal that I actually don't remember 100% of my lucid "period"? Was thinking maybe it wasn't a lucid, because I don't really recall thinking "OMG I'm LUCID!" and I don't also recall exactly thinking "okay now I will do a RC" or rubbing my hands I do recall being scared of following the plot and opting to fly away. Unless low lucidity, despite vivid dream, means you aren't 100% clear of your actions ?

yes, losing lucidity is quite common in a lucid. Just remember to remember that you are dreaming throughout the dream.

If you have trouble remembering through the whole dream, try summoning a dream character to follow you around and tell them to remind you that you're dreaming. Works every time for me.

I had this problem at one stage, considering if I wasn't concious enough to class it as a lucid, but I think you were.
As you probably know, we aren't completely aware when we become lucid, more concious though, we don't perform the exact actions that we would want to do when we are fully concious, but more so than a normal dream. Don't worry about RCs failing, although it is strange that you were lucid before you did the RC and then it failed. Maybe you weren't concious enough to realise, it varies when your lucid, or maybe the quality of your RCs in real life needs to be improved (only do it when something strange occurs).
      Hope that helped, good luck!

This is common. As I have said in another thread, it took the authors of the most famous lucid dreaming books (Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming, Gateway to the Inner Self and so on) YEARS to learn how to stay in the dream, and they all had different methods of staying there, but one thing they had in common. They learned it by themself, sure they followed some guides, but it was only their own experience that taught them how to do it. So the only answer to your question is to get more lucid dreams and find out your own way of staying there.

I have been pracctising for 2 years now, and I am slowly learning how to maintain the state, and I can say that it's not only by using my senses.
But an easy explaination of how to stay in the dream is to stay calm.

But you have to find out by yourself, so instead of trying to become lucid, try to find your way to become lucid frequentley, so you can start building your knowledge.

And as you can see in my Dream Journal, my lucid dreams often becomes a normal dream again.

      Good luck!

Hey Zoth, don't worry it's normal not remember 100% of your lucid dream or loose lucidity in the middle of it. As you get more experience and keep with it you will keep getting better. Make sure you stabilize the dream when you become lucid and keep reminding yourself that you're dreaming during the dream. Before you go to bed tell yourself it is important for you to stay lucid. Good luck!

Like the others said, it's normal. Try not to stress about it, maybe try to shut your eyes when you wake up and you will probably remember more. Just keep on practicing and your memory will get better with each LD you have
