When you do WILD (assuming you're doing WBTB) you should get up and walk around for a few minutes, maybe get a glass of water and go to the bathroom (this way you're not about to black out when you lay back down). You should also relax yourself before you start the WILD attempt (for example sitting on your bed and meditating). Then you need an "anchor", something that you can focus on passively you keep your subconscious awake while you fall asleep (like the white noise from an air conditioner).
