      Is this a thing?

So! Two days ago I had an awful day, everything was going wrong and I was really worried and anxious about everything. That night, I constantly kept waking up worried and not being able to sleep. I decided to use this to my advantage when I realized that it kept happening and began doing reality checks. Every time I woke up, I would look at my hands.

The first time I looked, my hand looked normal. I had the weirdest feeling I was dreaming however, so I looked closer, and noticed I had 6 fingers. Unfortunately, I have no recollection of what happened after that, maybe I woke up.

The next time I woke up, I checked my hand and was missing several fingers. That should probably have been enough to convince me I was asleep, considering I was also in some kind of laboratory? But I wasn't convinced, so I checked my phone (this is a reality check for me, my phone is always messed up in some way when I dream) and noticed it had a 'phoebe' button that showed a pic of lisa kudrow (hahaha). So I realised I was dreaming and got out of bed and walked around a bit or something, again I don't really remember.

Then I woke up again, and I think I might have had sleep paralysis as I couldn't move my body and felt incredibly heavy. Also I had the ridiculously uncomfortable feeling of a weight on my back and an intense tickling feeling on my ribs, but I couldn't laugh or move or anything, and it felt horrible. So I tried this thing that for some reason came to mind, I'm not sure if I read it on here somewhere or what, but I sort of tried to make worm-like movements with my body? It didn't stop the feeling but I opened my eyes and saw my hand seperating from my real hand or something which I assume was a dream also. Then I went into a normal, boring dream.

You're probably wondering what the point of this story is. I kind of just wrote it for the sake of wanting to share it because it was a "cool" experience but also I wanted to know if the 'worming' technique has worked for anyone else? Because I definitely think it helped me enter a dream and distracted me from what I assume was SP. Is it a legit technique? Or just part of WILD? And is there any reason why I've forgotten the 'dream' parts of my lucid dreams? I have good recall, so I found it wierd that I couldn't remember anything that happened beyond the RCs.

This phantom wriggling technique has been suggested as part of WILDs and also comes up a lot in discussions about OBEs and astral projection. I know specifically Michael Raduga has suggested it as a technique.
