      Falling asleep in a WILD

I've been doing WBTB then WILDing for a while now. After counting my breath to around 60 breaths, I fall asleep and start dreaming (non-lucid) almost immediately.

I don't understand how to deeply relax while remaining conscious! Suggestions?

Yes. But the ceiling is pitch black, so I just drift to sleep without knowing if my eyes are open or not. :S

I read that people use beeps played in 5 minute intervals, or a band to induce mild pain. Does that work?
