Question Inconsistent dream signs, Brain has Ulterior motives?

      Hey guys

I've noticed over the past few weeks and months of me trying to attain lucidity that there is one odd trend that I cannot figure out and, as a result, cannot stamp out. This trend is changing dream signs, now I know dream journalling and spotting dream signs is an important aspect of lucid dreaming but I simply can't. Every time I review my notes and start to notice a clear dream sign, it completely vanishes only to be replaced by something different.
Is this my Brains way of keeping me away from getting lucid or is there some other factor at work here?

I don't really have any consistent dream signs either. Actually, I've never used them to become lucid - you don't even need them, to be honest. 99% of my lucids have come from simply becoming conscious, not from looking at something and realizing it's a dream sign. All you really have to do is practice waking awareness and being observant of what's around you, maybe doing a couple RCs every now and then too.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I've never relied on specific dream signs. It's not like the dream realm is concrete or anything. It's constantly changing.
I think you're looking too hard. A dream sign can be something as simple as something not happening the way it would in 'reality' and the signs usually aren't the same in every dream. I think the only dream sign that can be reliant in anyway is a repeating dream.

Sushi hit the nail on the head imo. Great advice right there

Hey guys, thanks for reading and thanks for the advice
I have been working on awareness, including SAT, I just thought it was an interesting trend. I've also been having dry spells recently of a night or two.
