Welcome to the forum! We experience SP every night, whether we know it or not. It's natural. Consequently, I have found it is best ( for me, anyhow) not to worry about SP. I use progressive muscle relaxation and visualization to enter non-REM dreams in a lucid state. When we visualize we use the same area of our brains as when we dream.
