That's a good start; keep recording whatever you can remember.
If you're using the DILD technique, practice awareness and really try to question if you could be awake or not... BEFORE doing a reality check, which is usually only used to test if you're dreaming or not. If you don't get into the proper mindset and be skeptical as to whether or not you're asleep, it can take one longer to attain an LD.
And get focused on what you want to accomplish; read up on lucid dreams and sleep paralysis, and even other peoples' dreams. You might find something you want to do in your next lucid.
