Has anyone looked into the effectiveness of background noise at fostering lucidity?

I'm new here, but I've got a few lucid dreams under my belt. I hardly ever get as much sleep as I'd like, so I'm always exhausted when I get home. Sometimes I take a little nap. I haven't done enough trials to be sure, but I think that leaving the TV on increases my chances of becoming lucid. It's happened a few times before, and I did it today with incredible success. I had the best lucid dream of my life. I finally flew! After waking, I had the feeling that my mind had been kick-started by the disruption caused by the TV.

Anyway, I'd be interested to know what you guys have found regarding this.
