I've been trying out several types of isochronic tones. I'm trying to see how these tones affect my recall if I listen to them all night long, while I sleep with headphones. And I've had a few different experiences that vary based on the type of background sound playing under the isochronic tone. I haven't done it enough to really know for sure but here's what's happened:
  1. Pure isochronic tone, no background, version 2.0. Got it from that thread by mindwanderer. I listened to the tone on repeat for 40 minutes but I could not fall asleep because the tone was too jarring. I turned off the tone, went to bed, and had above average recall the next morning.
  2. Isochronic tone, ocean sounds background - I put this one on, which has an ocean/seagull soundtrack behind the isochronic tone. It was extremely relaxing and I was able to fall asleep quickly. I listened to it the entire night. However I remembered no dreams the next morning.
  3. Isochronic tone, brown noise background - Listened to this one last night. This one has filtered brown noise behind the isochronic tone. I was able to fall asleep to this one, but then I woke up 45 minutes later and couldn't fall back asleep without taking the headphones off. I fell asleep and woke up several hours later, and put the headphones back on and slept the rest of the night with the tone on. This morning my recall was pretty good. I remembered 3 dreams without having taken any notes during the night, which usually I can't do.

I'll probably experiment with these three tones some more.

Does anyone else use these during sleep and how do these isochronic tones affect you guys?
