Lucid Dreaming and Recall may be separate issues. Yes, typically lucid dreams are more intense than ordinary dreams, but still, if one tends to go straight back down into deep sleep afterward, you may well not remember even Lucid Dreams.

Try drinking more water before going to bed -- to give yourself an excuse to get up after one's dream cycle.

Then, we have found, surprisingly, that negative reinforcement has been effective -- slapping your arm or leg hard enough to make yourself wince in pain, if you wake up without remembering a Dream. It turns out that the body does HATE pain, and will pick up a line to the Subconscious Mind right away and insist that whatever the problem is, it HAS to be fixed because the pain as a consequence of failure just isn't any fun.
