      Question Could not complete WILD

I have had like 6 lucid dreams so i'm not that experienced or a noob either but most of them i have had with the DEILD technique and the other ones i have just noticed something weird in a dream and done a RC.

But so i just resently started attempting WILD mainly because the SP have been a little unpleasant for me, not that i have ever succeeded one but the idea of one was a bit scary.

But I'm over that now and i have tried WILD now 3 times during a afternoon nap, but i keep having this one problem. When i get close to succession i get these hallucinations (full body numbness, weird lights during my eyes closed, hear sounds like wind blowing and feelings like something is touching me these are all part of the relaxation ofc) and the more stronger these hallucinations gets the faster my heart starts beating. Last time my heart didn't start beating as fast but i wasn't able to get to the dream either. I just ended it because i was getting nowhere and i got those sound hallucinations but they kept always fading away and then came back in a minute.
when i decited to open my eyes i could move but my body felt kind of heavy, so should i have just given some more time to the SP to kick in good?
I really appreciate it if you read this, thanks!

I've always been able to reach hat period where it stops but I never reached the point of dreaming..I remember reading it stops because you get excited =/ but I wasn't trying to be? SP is interesting

These are hypnagogic visuals and sounds. They are very natural. Because you are maintaining awareness during the sleep process you are hyper-aware when they happen. I have never been a big proponent of SP .. but it sounds like you were almost there.

I suffer from similar problems. I feel somewhat turbulent sensations washing over my body that seem to just jar me awake.

I think you are exactly where you need to be. The hallucianations are all part of SP and you were close to LD. When you feel your heart racing, I think it's just your heart chakra kicking into activity and not your heart, so I wouldn't worry about it, unless you sure it's your heart. From the point you describing, I mastered only one way to enter a dream, and thats through visuals/movies you see behind your closed eyelids. When the lights turn on behind my eyelids, that's a clue of lucid dream approaching. Try to hang in there little longer and see what happens. Try to do a RC when the sensations stop, you may be already in a dream.

Yeah I've had the same problem, I feel numb and everything, then I'll notice a muscle twitched and it makes my heart race.
So far I've been able to see what I tell myself I will see, but I've laid in bed for an hour and a half, felt like a lot longer than that, and when I know that I am ready to transition, I can't seem to do it.

I know right and its almost impossible to keep your mind not wandering around for such a long time.

I attempted WILDing last night since I was tired enough for SP and the such to take over faster, I used a counting method, counting a number after each breath I took and telling myself "I'm dreaming" after each number. I made it to about 150 before I fell asleep. But I feel accomplished for the fact that I was able to keep conscious that long because of how tired I was.

Do you have ADD or ADHD? I have ADD and I think that makes it a little harder for me because I get frustrated easy at times.
But keep at it friend, Persistence and Patience is key, and not just to Lucid Dreaming either.

It's ok if your mind starts to wander. Realize that and every thought that emerges, try to push it aside without examining it. Or just gently return to quiet mind without getting upset. You would have to be very good at meditation to keep your mind completely empty. I can't to that, so I just have to put up with noisy mind and make the best of it. Happy dreams

No none of those, guess im just gotten too used to DEILD and the fast transition. I actually used DEILD last night and i woke up but accidently moved a bit but i could still feel the same numbness as in WILD so i tried to just go with the WILD but accidently ended up in a normal dream because i was too tired.

The consensus is that the rapid heartbeat is just a hallucination. I'm not too sure about that, the weird shit that accompanies sleep paralysis and excitement about reaching a lucid dream combined with the fact that your senses are internalising making you more aware of your heartbeat combine to make your heart seem like it's leaping out of your chest.

Just chill during SP, you can always speed up the process by visualising a dream scene to step into

Thanks for all the advices, but it seems I'll just stick with DEILD for now on. Now when I have started to get hang of it and I see like 3 lucid dreams in a week!
