      Help with fully realizing your dreaming.

      Alright well, in my quest to master the WILD technique somewhere down the line I started having DILDs almost 2 times a week (just started happening. =D). Anyways in these DILDs I realize I'm dreaming, but it seems to be only the minimal amount of lucidity because my first instinct when I do become lucid is get to the hell out of the dream. Let me explain, most of my dreams consist of something chasing me, so when I become lucid I realize I'm dreaming and then want to get out of the dream to get away from whatever it is. So my question is, Has anyone had an similar experience, and also did you happen to figure out or learn any tips or tricks to try to make yourself stop and really think about it when you become lucid?

      Thanks. =D

      Have you ever thought of doing a special MILD in which you tell yourself that you stop and face what's chasing you?
      Remember that you are in a dream and nothing can harm you, regardless how scary the chaser is. You could ask him why he is chasing you.

      If i remember in a dream control thread, the OP mentioned that emotions have an effect towards the behaviour of your subconscious. So to feel angry or scared in the dream will also affect that emotion into the subconscious characters. To expand more, perhaps there might be some repressed memories in your subconscious that portray negative emotions such as fear or anger which causes these dark figures to chase you. From my understanding, is that the purpose of dreams is to reflect the issues that need to be dealt with,so a important concept in your everyday life is acceptance. If you can accept/forgive the past, you begin healing your negative experiences and less of these scary representation in your dream will appear. I hope this helps

      Actually I just read a book called "The mind at night" which was talking about the same subject. irregardless, although interesting, it didn't really answer my question. Also It has seems to become a way for me to become lucid. So although scary and a pain in the ass, if they help me become lucid I don't care much if I have them frequently.

      I hope it's okay if I just give you the link to the DV-Tutorial:
      dreamviews.com/wiki/MILD-Tutorial (Can't post real links yet)

      Just replace the mantra with something like 'I am going to face my chaser' whatever seems appropriate.

      Funny enough I have just woken up from a dream in which I was getting bulled only to later on in the dream stand up to them and actually beat the shit out of them. Ha. Of course I didn't become lucid but I thought it was pretty funny when I woke up.

      I will keep trying this technique. =D
