A common issue? or is it just me

So, for a while now, I have been trying to have a WILD. I think my mind or something is mixed up.. I lay down, and even before I close my eyes, I can see a hint of hypnag' imagery. So I get relaxed and all, but the imagery gets more vivid before I have had a chance to enter sleep paralysis.

So then I start looking at the images. The last time I tried, I felt swept up and shaky when I looked at them. BUT at the same time, my eyes were freaking out. It took a lot of my concentration just to keep them closed.

Is this normal? or how can I enter sp first?

I'm going to guess that when your eyes started "freaking out" that, that was just R.E.M.. I think I've had a similar experience, don't worry about the SP.. just go with the flow.. A similar experience happened to me and I was "lifted", as you felt swept I'm guessing, up off of my bed and out my window. I've read not to focus on the imagery but just let them go by. One time I did focus on a hypnagogic and the scene started to come towards and encompass me. Again I don't believe you need SP. Go with the flow. Just my opinion.
