It really has to be a very passive thing. Don't try to wait for, or expect, anything to happen, otherwise you'll unconsciously become mentally and physically tense and actually prevent sleep. |

This morning I tried jeff777's technique "Free falling" |

Always, no sometimes think it's me,
But you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean a yes
But it's all wrong
That is I think I disagree
-John Lennon
I woke up around 5am (went to bed at 1am), turned my alarm off so that didn't disturb it then done it. I didn't get out of bed, I moved for about 15 seconds then tried it |

Keep in mind that four hours of prior sleep is considered the minimum. The more sleep you get before your attempt the better your chances. Most of my successes come on days when I can sleep for nine hours. That final hour is magic. I'm refreshed and my mind is clear but I know I can return to sleep if I want to. That's the perfect time to do it. |

Also don't focus on SP too much. My first WILD happened when I gave up on it and just wanted to sleep. Didn't feel any SP or HI, just stood in a garden all of a sudden and thought; how did I get here? Also my magic time is about 7 hours of sleep prior to a 30 min WBTB. |

Always take a banana to a party, bananas are good
WBTB = Wake back to bed, all you really 'do' is wake up... and go back to bed. Stephen Laberge found that an hour spent doing some activity during a late night awakening led to 5x increase in likelihood of lucidity. It's also useful to target the longer REM cycles that come in the later sleep cycles of the night. |

Okay, hopefully I'll have a bit more luck tonight |
