      Alarm Induced Lucid Dream (AILD)

I have an alarm clock that I'm able to set two alarms with. Alarm A, and alarm B. I can set each at any time. My alarm clock also allows me to dock my iPod and to use it as an alarm if I like.

I just was thinking, say I set alarm A to go off 4 or 5 hours after I went to sleep. The alarm was a recording on my iPod, of me (Or someone else) saying things like "You're dreaming" "Do a reality check and become lucid"

I really like how this sounds and I'm going to try it tonight. Because I have two alarms, I can do this and still have my alarm for school set. I'll report back here with results tomorrow

But on the weekend, I could use both alarm A and alarm B to do reality checks an hour or so after the first. I'll try that out too.

I've decided to call this AILD, I really like the idea of it so I'll continue with it.

It anyone has a recording they could supply (I may not be able to record my own due to throat issues right now), please post it!

And if anyone has a similar alarm and would like to try this out alongside me, feel free! Come back and post your results, and remember that if it doesn't work the first night it doesn't mean it's a failure of a technique. Try and try again and believe in the technique and your own ability.

      hey Jayme
I am currently trying something similar. I set the alarm clock on my Iphone in a way that the first alarm is an mp3 file that tells me I am dreaming in the first 7 seconds and stays silent for the rest 7 hours or so.
The clue is that when I wake up I try to remain in sleep paralysis and try a DEILD. My second alarm goes off 30 minutes later so I can easily remember my dream

Tonight is going to be the third night of testing this method but I am still adjusting the volume of the alarms to wake me up but not to scare me to death hahaha.

When I read your thread I thought that your method sounds very familiar
You should check out this one here: http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/yuppie...-dream-126343/
maybe you can combine something! Let me know if you got any success!

I cut a track with a recording from David Duchovny with just such a purpose in mind: People Can Fly.mp3.

Alright, I've created an audio track using the audio in your post, and my own addition of myself saying "You're dreaming, do a reality check and become lucid. You are dreaming - do a reality check". I'll report on this tomorrow and if failure is the result, I'll keep trying.

It's called DILD since you become aware in your dream, or EILD since it's from something external
      Spoiler for Secret to LDing:

There is a technique that is more or less what you described coined the CAN-WILD by CrazyInsane

Some people have found success with it, but I think you have to train yourself to recognize the signal. After all, when you are dreaming, the logic and awareness parts of your mind are somewhat shut down.

This technique already exists. It is called EILD, and it stands for Externally Induced Lucid Dream. You can check this tutorial, for more information about it.
