What to do Immedently after realizing you are in a dream?

Okay, so I was in a dream and I was floating. I then realized I was dreaming. I looked at my hands, but that wasn't enough to stabilize my dream beause I became aware of a noise. And the noise was my ceiling fan in real life. Soon after I came to that realization I woke up.

Calm down and stabilize the dream. Looking at your hands is a reality check, used to see if there are any deformations. To stabilize you can either rub your hands, spin, or focus on your surroundings. The trick to rubbing your hands and focusing on your surroundings is to open all your senses and try to anchor yourself into the dream. You basically focus on all of your senses, like ADA only in a dream. You should preform a stabilizing technique for 5-10 seconds or until you are confident in how well you are anchored to your dream. This also can help increase vividness so if you are lacking clarity or just want to see how vivid the dream can get you can try one of these or shouting "Clarity!" or something similar. After that it's whatever you can imagine

Jump! Dream gravity is different from the waking life. Once you 'jump' , stabilize immediately and take a walk in the dreamscape.

It wasn't just the excitement that woke you up. The whole point of stabilization is to anchor yourself into the dream world. In your dream, make sure you use all your senses once the dream is fading. By thinking of your ceiling in real life, you did not anchor yourself into your dream.
      Congrats on the lucid.

Analyse and accept the new scenario, as if it was waking life. Being immersed within the dream is what's important - accept your dream reality as 'the' reality. Which is why stimulating your senses is important- feeling your dream body helps greatly. I've read that global sensory also helps lots, but if you're looking for a thing you can practice in waking life to transfer over to your dreams, it's definitely ADA. Being aware of your 5 senses within waking life will help with stabilisation upon lucidity.
Thinking of waking life will increase the chances of waking up, I've absolutely no idea why.. it just does.
