      Dreams and reality mixing

I was laying in bed pretty awake this morning. It was early so I decided to go back to sleep. I closed my eyes, got comfortable and did the 61 points relaxation technique, but never finished because I lost track of where I was. I tried creating a dream scene of a hotel/movie theater like place. I could see it like it was a dream, but it almost seemed more like a visualization. I started using some of my senses such as touch and smell to try to anchor myself in it. I succeeded and felt a slight transition from laying in my bed to the dream scene. I messed around in the dream for about 10 minutes, and all of the sudden I had an itch on my face and and started itching it. It was weird though because when I went to scratch it, I did in reality. There was a sudden realization where my hand was on my face, an the dream pretty much ended right there.

This isn't the first time I've experienced this 'not detached from reality' type of thing. I was wondering if anyone else has done this, what it's called (my guess is some type of WILD), and what I can do I completely detach myself from reality so things like an itch on my nose doesn't bother me.

Oh, an sorry for the poor sentence structure and post quality. Typin on my phone isn't too easy :/*

Hi there, I have done this a few times when WILDing, to completely detach myself, I did what you did (anchor myself in the dream) and just acted out some RCs and talked to get myself involved in the dream. My guess is if you hadn't scratched, you'd have succeeded! No worries tho, at least you know you can do it so you can remember for next time!

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper

Sounds like your were in a Theta brainwave state... not quite awake or asleep. This is a form of self-hypnosis. However, you were almost there. Keep doing what you are doing!

I get this all the time. It is really bad in the first few minutes of the dream, until I get fully immersed. Sometimes this will be how I wake up, and other times it is just an interruption, or prelude to a confusing chain of sleep paralysis false awakenings. It is a big mess. Just accept it as another part of dreaming to have fun exploring.

If you don't mind my asking. What is a 61 points relaxation technique?

Wait never mind. I found it.
