Was this a lucid dream?

Last night I had another semi-lucid dream were I wasn't sure if i was lucid or not. In the dream i did my reality checks and i could stretch the skin on my hand pretty far, i looked at words turned my head and the words changed and i could breath while pinching my nose but for some reason I dont think it clicked that i was dreaming because when i woke up it just felt like a normal dream.. when you wake up from a lucid dream is it meant to feel like it was a real day that just happened yesterday? or is it meant to feel like a normal dream.. Im really confussed..

An real LD feels like a religious experience. You will wake up gleeful and realize that there is so much more to reality than you will ever know whilst alive. You will know... without any doubt... when you have a lucid dream.

Doing reality checks doesn't mean you're lucid. If you didn't realise you're dreaming, you're pretty much still in a non-lucid. But the moment I gained lucidity, I will feel that a different part of my brain is in charge. It's a different feeling from a non-lucid, when you wake up it feels different too but you can tell it's a dream.

The definition of a lucid dream is a dream where you are aware that you are dreaming. In non-lucid dreams many strange things happen like scenes which rapidly change or any other non-logical events. If you are not able to infer that the reason that all those strange things are happening is the fact that you are dreaming then that is not a lucid dream. Reality checks are supposed to be a trigger for you to understand that you are dreaming. If you are not able to understand that you are dreaming by using the reality checks in order to induce the lucid dream then we are missing the whole point.

Maybe you can try to imagine yourself succeeding to understand that you are dreaming by using a reality check or any other method to get you lucid. You can also try to use auto suggestion, which basically means that you repeat some kind of phrase or mantra that will indicate what will happen as a result of something else; here is an example of auto suggestion: "When I will be able to breath through closed nose , I would know that I am dreaming" .
