      Pain in foot's thumb

      Hello..
My friend is also trying to lucid dream, but he can't because whenever he's trying to stay still and concentrate, he feels like his thumb lifts 10 tons and it really hurts.. Any advice on how to avoid the pain in thumb?

      That's an unusual situation.

Does this happen when he's awake also?

Your 'friend's' big toe is symbolic of his fear of death. Tell your friend that he is already the walking dead ( as we all are) and he needs to deal with his fear. Sleep is the not-so-distant cousin of death.

If he thinks about it, yes

      It sounds psychosomatic.

      psy·cho·so·mat·ic
         [sahy-koh-suh-mat-ik, -soh-]
      adjective
      1.
of or pertaining to a physical disorder that is caused by or notably influenced by emotional factors.

      2.
pertaining to or involving both the mind and the body.

It might be better for your friend to believe that the weight has been lifted off and the pain went with it. The act of belief might alter the sensation.

This sounds like something your friend should seek help with directly.
