Multiple short dreams happening each night

I am trying to attain lucidity for the last 1 week. I go to sleep at 11pm till 8AM. My general sleep cycle involves waking naturally around 6AM almost every time without having to use an alarm clock.

At 6AM, when I wake up, I do the WILD techniques. But, when I go back to sleep, I am having 5-6 short dreams all of which are unrelated to each other. After each dream, I wake up for a few minutes, then have the next dream. I can remember each dream.

Am I getting close to LD?

I am following the techniques of BillyBob and Jamie Alexander. I use the lucid affirmation "When I see my hands in my dream tonight I’ll become lucid". Problem is that in each of my dreams, I am never looking at my hands. I use them but never look at them with any purpose. So, do I need to find another anchor or eventually I will end up looking at my hands and remembering the lucid affirmation?

This is cool, your slept pattern is almost identical to mine. Though when I wake up at 6am I do a combo of DEILD, MILD and a visualisation of my next dream.
Now to your question, I think I'm getting close. I recommend when you wake up you visualise your next dream, and in that visualisation, include you looking at you hands.

If you remember each dream then I would suggest adding visualization of the dream you just had while telling yourself you will be conscious in your dream. Visualize a billboard in your dreamscape that reads ' you are dreaming'

Same thing happened tonight. When I went to sleep around 11pm, I had 3 dreams and woke up a minute after each dream. Then around 6AM...woke up...and had 4-5 dreams. I remember almost all dreams after they have happened but it is becoming cumbersome to write down all these in a diary...especially at night. Is it possible to reduce the number of dreams and just have 1 long dream in a particular REM cycle......if that makes sense?

I think it would be good if you find another anchor. Choose one that really means something to you, and that would really remind you of the idea of lucidity. Do you know some of your dream signs already? You can integrate them with your mantra, like: "When I see my mom, I will get lucid." (If your mom is a dream sign, that is.) Choose something that you often encounter in your dreams.

Keep in mind that tutorials and guides are all they are -- guides. They are meant to guide you, and help you find your own way. In the end, you need to find your own technique, because everything is different for everyone, and the purpose of the tutorials are so you can have building blocks wherein you create your own method which suits you best.

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
