      Lightbulb possible new lucid dreaming technique idea?

      Ok so before i start if
      a) this doesnt work
      b) someone already thought about it
      c) you lose 3 hours off sleep because off it
      then please dont fill this thread with rage comments just say it NICELY.

      Anyway here is the idea:
      first as you are going to sleep think about something and daydream about it then keep a sign in this day dream saying something like a) you are dreaming or b) do a reality check
      then just keep going with the daydream letting the sub-conscious gradually take over the daydream then when the dream has started you should notice the sign and do a reality check and the you could be lucid.

      It's a good technique but unfortunately not new (Visualization MILD) by Stephen LaBerge, although that doesn't matter because it's still brilliant of you to come up with this yourself.

      It's actually 100 times better than to think with words, because the brain itself doesn't think with words, it thinks with images.
      And if you use images to get this idea to the subconscious mind it's super effective.

      Yup this technique is part of many guides and other ideas. The main one being Mild the most commonly practised LD method. It can also be achieved and is known as Dream incubation/Auto suggestion.
      It is best to practise in the morning I believe just as you wake up it is quite easy to direct your brain to what to dream.

      wait i thought that MILD involved DILDs but this is more like a WILD because the visulisation does not inspire a dream you have in the morning ,but turns immediately into a dream going from waking state (the daydream) to dreaming or does MILD acctually do this.

      Nope the key to my explanation is that you say "let the subconscious take over". What you are doing is telling you brain to keep thinking of the RC situation (I.E Dream incubation) not keeping your mind awake while your body falls asleep, if it was a Wild you would already be lucid before the dream full started.

      I have been using dream signs and visualization for ten years... but congrats for discovering it for yourself!
