      For those non-lucid: WBTB

I know there are plenty of threads saying things like "Get lucid now" and all that, which everyone is different, so we need different techniques. Likewise, I have noticed the threads here seem to repeat, such as "MILD isn't working", and "new best technique". Nevertheless, I just wanted to share something that I am sure most people have heard many times before, for those who have not and struggling to get regular lucids or just their first. For a long time I struggled to get consistent lucids, and almost gave up. However, I noticed out of all my lucids, I only had one before 0300 (as far as I know). Furthermore, I had only had 2 that did not result after a WBTB. As I stated earlier, I'm sure many of you have heard this many times, this is mostly steered towards newbies. I made it a "law" to myself to always add WBTB to whatever technique I try, consequently instead of doing my mantra to have a lucid before bed, I either do "I will wake up after every dream" or "I will wake at such and such time", and sometimes a recall mantra. Then when I wake at said time and go back to bed, that's when I do my MILD mantra or whatever technique. In conclusion, I have broken a dry spell, had consistent, and daily lucid dreams, by simply getting up early in the morning, doing a couple things, then laying on the couch and reading until I fall asleep. I end up waking and fall asleep 3 or 4 times and in each often becoming lucid.

I hope this helps someone out, it sure did myself.

      As always, stay lucid,
      Wyvrn

Nice, WBTB is very helpful for me as well. WBTB+MILD has never failed me once, though I don't get the chance to do it as often as I'd like. I also agree with the fact that autosuggestion and mantras can go a long way. It can really help you achieve your goals -- by repeatedly telling yourself you will do this, it will happen indeed.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
