      Best LD techniques?

I know there are many ways to attain lucidity. I want to know what are the best techniques. The easiest, the most reliable, your favorite and if you use other type of help to LD.

Also what technique you used for your first LD.

DILD/MILD seems to be the easiest. Having said this im a huge noob when it comes to lucid dreaming and only had 2-3 DILDs.

Here is an article about main techniques. Every other technique is a variation of two main techniques - DILD and WILD.

The best technique is the one, that will get YOU lucid and that suites YOUR lifestyle. There is no such thing as the easiest or most reliable one, because it works differently for everybody.

That said, if you just starting out with lucid dreaming, DILD is the technique that's recommended the most. Just because for WILD to be successfull, there is a lot of components that have to go exactly right.

So I would suggest to read up on all the techniques and methods and see, which one will match your lifestyle the best and try it out. Give one method sufficient time to see if it works, but that doesn't mean, you can't try more of them at the same time. Check out the DV Wiki for tutorials. Happy dreams

There is no best technique. All techniques have advantages and disadvantages depending on the dreamer and personal preference.

What technique is easiest also varies. Generally, DILD is easiest to learn. Anyone can do the techniques because for the most part all you have to do is remember to reality check often be more aware. WILD is much easier for people who already know what a lucid dream feels like so DILD is usually best to learn first. A lot of people have a hard time with WILD (myself included) while others get the hang of it quite quickly. WILD requires more actual practice and experience to master while DILD is more about breaking the habit of thinking you are awake.

WILD or variants of WILD like DEILD are more reliable than DILD. The thing about DILD is that there is always the chance that you won't think to RC while your dreaming. With WILD you yourself initiate the technique. As long as you choose to wake up and give it a try then you guarantee the possibility of a lucid every night.

Don't limit yourself to one technique though. Think of them like tools on your tool belt. You can use them all together to give you the best odds of getting a lucid dream. WILDers should still practice DILD techniques take the most advantage of the dreams. WBTB is required for WILD and helps DILD and dream recall immensely. MILD and mantras are fantastic and can help with DILD, remembering dreams, remember dream goals. etc. EILD and lucid aids are worth experimenting with but should not be relied on.

My first lucid was a DILD. I had been practicing for about a week. It started out in my room as if I had woken up in the middle of the night. I knew about false awakenings so I tried a reality check. I was quite surprised that I was actually still asleep. I have had only a few mediocre WILDs. I need to take more time to practice it. I usually get lazy and just go back to sleep.

I use a variation of MILD/WILD/DEILD that utilizes visualization and what could be considered self-hypnosis. For me, visualizing is the key.

For me I'd say SSILD is by far the easiest method. I have only used it two times so far, and have had a 100% success rate. I love it because it is extremely easy to do and is very effective.

The easiest way to get lucid is to do nothing and wait for it to happen, but unless you are a natural then it probably won't happen any time soon. Next to that either DILD or MILD would be easiest. As for the most effective that is probably WILD, which if you are like me at all will also be the hardest. Personally I use MILD just because I am lazy and it doesn't take a lot of work. My first LD came from me accidentally WILDing when I was a kid, MILD gave me my first intentional LD though.

It really depends on the individual, for me I think that a mix of DEILD and WILD can be very effective, if done right my chances are above 50% on any given night. I've been sort of mixing and matching features of different techniques for awhile now to find out what works best for me, that's what I think everyone should do, play with different anchors, and wake up times, and such.

I'm new here and my first lucid was an accidental DILD... so I came on this site looking for more and started off combining all day awareness and doing reality checks throughout the day but it didn't seem to go into my dreams. (maybe I didn't do it long enough)
Lately, I've been trying DEILD and I believe it's the best technique for me personally. Only because I'm pretty impatient and I cbf'ed doing ADA and checks throughout the day after a while. But yeah, like people have said, all comes down to the specific person I guess.

Each and every technique work better for different people. Each person has their own personalized way of getting lucid and different things work best for them. That is why I made this guide to choosing the right technique specifically for you. Please check it out and decided which one would be better

That's fine, but remember it can take a little while for a technique to start working. You cannot just switch techniques every week. I recommend to stay dedicated to one technique for a month or more before moving on to another technique. If you move to quickly, none of these techniques will work for you.

      Good luck!
