      Any advice?

So, I've been trying to lucid dream for more than 2 years and I've not had a single one in that time. I've looked at so many tutorials and methods but none of them seem to really do it. I have a dream journal that I write in, sporadically and my dream recall isn't all that bad. Certainly enough to know if I've ever gone lucid. Problem is that I can't seem to make that jump. Is there any advice anyone can give me to at least get me on the right track?

I dunno man, the only thing at the top of my head right now is practicing all day awareness, if you haven't been doing that vigorously already. I personally experienced a period where nothing I did led to a lucid. So i went for ADA as sincerely as I can. I had a better time with that, because if I couldn't get lucid from the techniques themselves, at least I'd have better awareness of my surroundings, which ultimately led me to be more aware of my dream environment and made me lucid.

If you have some more time, you can start fresh sort of. And practice the techniques you've tried before, from the beginning. Maybe this time they'll click?

Making a list of lucid goals might help too. Then rereading them a few times a day, and especially before bed really helped me get into the lucid mindset and kinda "kick-started" the lucids because my mind would be like "you have some goals, you better get lucid to do them!".

Good luck, I hope you find something that works perfect for you soon. In the meantime, you can still take joy in some awesome non-lucids, those can be fun too.

      See ya!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

The most effective method I know is to wait for a dream to wake you up (even a nightmare) in the middle of the night . Do not move or even open you eyes if you can help it. Visualize that very dream as you allow yourself to drift back to sleep. This is a form of what is called a DEILD (Dream Exit ) . Good luck to you! P.S. : Yes, I know that waking from a dream in the middle of the night does not occur that often but this is a very effective way to have a lucid dream .

It's very important to have the intent and be excited about it. Have you seen the DV Academy? They may be able to help you finetune your induction method and give you personalized guidance. Good luck

Definitely gonna try all of what's been suggested. I've got intent out the wazoo and quite a bit of excitement. Though I will say I may have tried DEILD. My general issue is that I can't fall asleep while holding any thoughts. It's kind of an all or nothing thing it seems.

To fall asleep while holding thoughts - this would happen mostly when you WILD. The trick is, to be saying your mantra only to certain point. If you say your mantra in rhytm with your breathing, it will help you fall asleep.

Mantra will help you in two ways:
      1. reinforce your intent
      2. keep other thoughts away

During the process of falling asleep, you actually let yourself fall asleep for a few seconds and then you regain consciousness, and you keep doing this, untill you suddenly in a dream consciouss.

DEILD process is much shorter, no need for mantra, just visualize.
