      Waking up without an alarm

Okay I'm trying to have a DEILD and if I tell myself to wake up during the night sometimes I do , and sometimes I don't , for a DEILD you're not supposed to open your eyes , so how do I know if I woke up at the right time ? And lastly is their anyway that I can make my chances greater of waking up without an alarm at a certain time ?

The mantra that works for me is: "I will wake up at 5am tonight and I'm going to keep my eyes closed". I've tested this (like just opening my eyes and look at the time). And usually I wake up somewhere between 4.30am-5.30am. I don't think you can actually be sure if you woke up at the right time.

I can see you sleep through your bedroom window. You're killing yourself with lucid dreaming.

I can wake up after the end of a dream (lucid or not) because between REM cycles, we wake up for a short amount of time but we are not conscious of them most of the time. To achieve this you can use mantras, visualization, etc. When you wake after a dream it's the perfect time to attempt DEILD because you are still in a REM period for a short amount of time. I recommend you to use mantras/visuallisation first for waking up after your dreams, then when you did it a couple of times and it gets easy to do you should try to wake up motionless with eyes closed. If you move or open your eyes, you should still try to do it, I succeeded many times even after moving a bit. If you fail to DEILD you should do a RC because you could be in a dream. The more you practice the easier it will get.

      I wish you good luck,
      Simon
