      Scenes

When I attempt WILD or simply just doing my mantras as I go to sleep, these random images/scenes pops up. Like, I would say my mantra over and over in my mind then one moment, I get sidetrack and think of one thing then it goes on like a random scene. Afterwards, I'll remember my mantras and say it again (In my mind) as the scenes disappear and feel more awake.
Probably because I'm in a sleepy state and I fall asleep easier when those scenes plays out and then fail WILD.
      Quite interesting though. :3

You can imagine scenes also... we visualize and we dream in the same area of the brain.

Those could be just memories of your day or previous dreams (at least that's what I'm getting), or HH, which is a beginning of a dream. In either case, that's a good sign.

What is your mantra? Maybe it's too complicated and that's why it wakes you up? You have to find a balance, that will keep the images going and your mind aware enough, so you don't fall asleep too soon.

BTW, dozing off and waking up again is a good thing. Hopefully one of those time when you doze off, you will retain awareness and be lucid.

You can try and drop the mantra once you see the images nicely formed. And just concentrate on them and when you see one image or movie playing out on the whole field of view, that's a dream already and you can enter it. Here is an article about all different Sensations, HH and types of entry into WILD.

      Thanks FaceonMars and Gab!

Well, my mantra is "The next time I dream, I will realize that I'm dreaming." Maybe it's too long for me..? I'm trying to use short ones such as "I'll realize that I'm dreaming." or "I am dreaming." Next time I attempt WILD, I'll definitely focus on the scenes and be aware as well.

Although, this morning, I set my alarm after 5 hours of my sleep and it went off which woke me up quickly, turn it off, and had to write fragments of the dream I was interrupted in. Then I laid on my back and tried WILD. I felt vibrations, specially on my arms, and those scenes but everytime I remember to say my mantra and say it in my mind, it wakes me up. I was quite awake, so I thought that I couldn't do it at this moment so I rolled to my side and just thought of being lucid, making it my last thought then I fell asleep quite fast actually. I failed it, although, I had a very vivid dream afterwards, just wished I was lucid because the dream was awesome. It involved Ninja Samurais and my dream self had a katana! It was cool. x3

If mantra keeps you awake, don't start saying it, until you feel yourself very close to falling asleep. And even then, don't concentrate on mantra at all. You should not be saying it, btw, just thinking it.

My mantra used to be "Next time I'm dreaming, I look at my hands and realize I'm dreaming". It got me lucid on many occasions. Now I use "I'm dreaming", or "this is a dream".

It's really up to you, if it's easy to say/think the mantra, without forgetting and then having to remember the words, which makes you more awake. If it flows naturally, if it feels and sounds good to you.

If you already see the images/dreamlets and mantra keeps you too awake, stop with the mantra.
If you don't see the images, don't have other indication that lucid dream is coming and you are falling asleep, think the mantra for a while.
