What method works well with the remee + how can i find my REM Period?

hey guys, i recently got a remee for christmas and i was wondering what method would work with it the best? and also how i can more accuratly figure when my rem period is?

BTW, remee is a sleeping mask that flashes lights while you sleep in hopes to notic them and become lucid, it is a light timer. Please do not tell me my money was wasted and its stupid, as it was a gift, i know it works for most but it takes time + LD experience and a decent method. THank you all for reading and any responses are very much appreciated!

      Hey there!

So about the remee i dont have one so am not able to tell you if its good, bad or what ever. But i can tell you about the REM period of sleep. When we go through our sleep cycle normaly we have a period of deep sleep wich is the first 6 hours.. this is when you get longer SEM (slow eye movements) sleep, let's say its when your body recovers from de past day and so on.

After those 6 hours of sleep (again i have to say that this depends on each and every person) you start to have longer periods of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep and shorter periods of SEM. In REM we have higher brain activity and that explains why we dream, cause its when your mind is organizing what you've learned through the past day.

So im not sure how the Remee does work, but from what i've learned i read in Stephen LaBerge's book "Exploring the world of lucid dream" that this light that it sends during the REM sleep is to trigger the pre-frontal lobe cortex wich is the part of our brains that retains short memories and rational thoughts.

What i would suggest you to do is sleep for about 6h or 6h and 30 mins, set a alarm clock to wake you up, and put on Remee to work. It might give you some good results.. Also i do think that even if you don't have LDs you should enjoy and learn a lot from your dreams, cause they sure can tell us alot of us that even ourselves don't know.

Hope I helped you out .. and as always: Stay lucid!

      Cheers

Method to use with remee is DILD (RCs and mantras) and Awareness.

Flashing lights from remee will act as your dream sign. In order for a dream sign to work, you have to notice and recognize it first.

Remee lights will present themselves in your dreams in many possible forms - car lights, sun, police car' emergency lighs... They will be perfectly incorporated into your dream. In order for you to recognize them as your dream sign, you have to RC on them and do mantras in daytime.

So let's say RCs and mantras will work and in a dream you see lights and you recognize them as lights from remee. You still need to have some awareness, that will enable you to put two and two together and realize you are dreaming. This awareness in a dream is gained by practicing daytime awareness.

So this is how I would practice for remee:

      1. During day, ask yourself a question "wow, am I dreaming?" This question is suppose to stop you in your tracks. Give you a feeling "holly smokes, what if this is a dream and I didn't notice"? Examine your surroundings and compare with your memory. Assume that you are in fact in a dream.

      2. Ask yourself how did you get there. Backtrace your steps from that moment. Do you remember what were you doing just moments ago?

      3. Do at least 3 RCs. Pick your favorite ones and use at least 2 reliable ones. Use remee and flashing lights as one of the RCs. Believe, that they will work, because you are in a dream.

      4. Repeat a mantra about seeing lights (flashing, red...).

It may take time for you to start associate lights in your dream with you dreaming. Check out the Lucid Aids forum for more info from remee users.
