      Need Tips Attaining lucidity.

So I'm new to actually trying to lucid dream. I used to look into it awhile ago for a few weeks but gave up. My friend and I are getting serious now. It's been 4 days so far. Each night before bed I'm taking vitamins to help me remember my dreams and to realize I am dreaming. Other then that I do reality checks durning the day. I have a dream log. And I meditate before bed. I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers or things that worked for them that maybe I could try. Thanks.

I'm assuming you're going for a DILD. In that case, you pretty much have the basics down. Be consistent with your reality checks, dream journal, etc. There are a few techniques though that many have found helpful in guiding them towards their first lucid dream. The most popular technique is known as ADA in which you can find a tutorial for here:

This technique has surely helped me a lot in regards to my lucidity, as well as increasing the vividness of my dreams. I totally recommend this technique to any beginner starting to learn how to lucid dream.

Most WILDers tend to wake up later in the middle of their sleep (say 4 hours in). This is known as WBTB (Wake Back To Bed).

They do this because when you wake up in the middle of your sleep, you have a chance of being in REM sleep. Dreams occur in REM and REM periods come later in your sleep cycle. Some have said that they have WILDed in N-REM (Without any previous sleep) with success, although WILDing while you're in REM is much easier.

I would recommend sleeping 8 hours a night, sticking with a technique for a month or two. This is my favorite technique written out:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/attaining-...technique.html

And check out this summer thread if you are really "serious" about LDing.

Good luck. Feel free to ask any questions.

If you wanna try WILDing, here's an indepth tutorial to check: WILD
But don't disregard DILD, even if you don't get WILD, WBTB is nice for DILDs, so it's worth using both methods if possible.
Also feel free to join class in DVA: DV Academy , it's very helpful, and you could also join the dreaming competition: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...read-12-a.html , which can help to get into nice lucid dreaming mood.
      Good luck!

So I tried wild last night. When I woke up I had just had a dream. But was so tired I didn't write it down then went back to bed. :/ I suppose this is a lot of trial and error.
