My first 4 lucid dreams were what you described. What I did, and what I recommend doing, is to practice mantras having to do with stabilization. When you lay down to go to sleep, try saying to yourself something to the extent of "I stabilize all lucid dreams" over and over again. Mantras can be very powerful, but you have to believe what you are saying. Also, sometimes, you just gotta get down and dirty and touch the stuff around you, feel them and make them tangible to you, this can help anchor you to the dream world.
