Does Sleep Position Matter for WILDs and OBEs?

I'm trying to gather the mental resources to have a WILD and a possible OBE but I was wondering if it's okay for me to lie on my side since it's what I am use to, or do I have to lie on my back which feels so awkward and robotic. Thanks!

The only thing that really matters is that you can feel relaxed.
As long as you feel that your position is comfortable then you can certainly practice WILDs in that position.

Also, when people say that you shouldn't move during WILDs, what they really mean is that you shouldn't move if you have no good reason to do it.
But if you feel an annoying itch or the urge to swallow then you should just fix that, because trying to ignore it forever is much more distracting.
You will gradually stop thinking about itches and swallowing urges as you become more and more sleepy anyway.

I start on my back because I can't fall asleep on my back. But I can get loopy and dreamy on my back and then I roll onto my side and I'm ready to go.

Thanks for the reply. It's funny because I've never noticed my swallowing before and now suddenly when I try these relaxation techniques I feel like I can't stop producing saliva. My mouth feels like a waterfall in there. lmao

The reason why you focus on it is probably because you have heard some people say that "you should never swallow" during WILD attempts.
      That's not true.
If you absolutely need to swallow then just do it and get it over with, then keep swallowing whenever you feel the urge until you don't think about it anymore.
