lying position seems to matter ?

When i have lucid dreams, i realize that when i wake up, i am always lying on my back, there was maybe one single exception so far, out of 50 lucid dreams or so. But i can tell you that i normally consciously lie on the side, before i fall asleep, because i am more comfortable with that. But sometimes in the morning if i am just tired i just lay there and have lucid dreams most of the time.
You guys got some insight here ?

Actually, yes. I think most (or perhaps even all?) of my lucid dreams have occurred while sleeping on my back. I noticed this because I too prefer sleeping on my side, but I tried sleeping on my back after reading a tutorial which specifically mentioned doing so.

I'm no scientist, but it would appear that the correlation is far too strong to be coincidental. Though I wonder if this is the case for most people.

Either way, not really sure why this would make such a difference. Better blood circulation? Better flow of air to the lungs? I dunno.

I also have no idea here. Maybe the mind is more relaxed when it is on the right site, because if i want to consciously fall asleep laying on my back, i feel discomfort after a while and maybe this discomfort is keeping the mind more awake or so. At least if i lay there, straight on my back, i have the most vivid dreams.

All my lucid dreams happened when I was laying on my sides. Including my wilds. I really don't know why, I guess I just feel quite comfortable sleeping on my sides rather than lying on my back

I can see you sleep through your bedroom window. You're killing yourself with lucid dreaming.

Yeah, same here, all of my lucid dreams were when i was lying on my back, in my case though it's prolly because it's easier for me to WILD on the back.

Maybe you experience more lucids on your back because you lay on your back in the morning. Lucids are more likely in the morning hours.

Most of my WILD's occur when I lay on my stomach. But that's because it's the position I lay in most often. I don't think the position itself has an effect on the ability to get lucid.

I always fall asleep laying on my stomach, and almost always awake on my stomach(sometimes my side, but never on my back). As a child, I was convinced my house was haunted after seeing HI when waking up to sleep paralysis. This led me to feeling unsafe on my back while sleeping (no clue why) Ever since I simply cannot sleep on my back, and consequently never awake on my back. I personally don't believe there is a correlation between becoming lucid and what sleeping position you use.

I agree with dms111, people will re-adjust their position throughout the night and that could be reason why yours are always on your back.

Well one of the spiritual sides of this says it is from aligning your chakras. If you have a curved/hunched back this hinders the flow of "energies" that help in reaching higher states of mind.

This is one reason why the lotus position includes a perfectly straight back.

I am not an expert on this topic, however and I would be glad if someone else could add to that or explain it in further detail.

My most comfortable position is sleeping on my stomach with my hands under my pillow, I have a system where I start out on my back and eventually switch to my comfy position.

I don't have LD's unless I sleep on my stomach BUT the only WILD that worked for me was when I was sleeping on my back and when I went to switch positions to sleep on my stomach I was already dreaming but had not realized it yet so when I woke up sleeping on my back I was pretty confused.

All my lucid dreams have occurred sleeping on my back. Many times when I try to sleep laying on my sides I have anxiety dreams probably because I have difficulty breathing in that position.

I think that an important part of lying position is which method you are using to lucid dream. I personally like laying on my back for WILDs, and for other methods, I just choose a comfortable position, so I can sleep faster.
