      LD sleep position

Hey, do you guys/girls have a particular or favourite sleeping position from which you lucid dream? From memory I have only ever had a lucid dream while sleeping on my back. I'm sure that can't be a genuine limitation but just wondering if someone with more experience can verify that for me.

Half-sitting on the bed works best for me, got most of my lucid dreams from that position, though sleeping on the back worked a few times as well. There's not really any general position for that, it varies from person to person.

yet, when I sleep in fetus position, I fall asleep so fast that my mind doesn't even remembers any of my mantras and just creates an ordinary dream scene

I don't think sleeping position matter in LD case. It's matter for me but when I try autosuggestion before falling asleep. I can focus only lying on my back. Any more pleasent position makes me going to sleep to quickly.

I think most of the time I am on my back but that's my normal sleep position. I generally WILD on my back but there have been a few occasions where I was too awake and uncomfortable and as soon as I turned to my side I was able to enter the dream. DILD doesn't seem to matter.

I have noticed that sleeping in the recliner raises my over all awareness. My recall is better and I have had a lot of LDs there. The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep suggest that sleeping in a more up right position does indeed raise awareness. Changing positions is a part of their night time practice.

Hmmm, i guess that explains why i got more of my lucid dreams from half-sitting position than lying on the back.

A few years back I read a topic on a newspaper where they mention about sleeping positions, it was very interesting article where they explain if you sleep on the compass direction you will not view dream while sleeping and I do not know how true this is.

i thought about this before and i thought it was odd that every single time i had an LD i was on my back and once with a big wedge pellow under me which had me at an up right position but i was still on my back. i think its quite intriguing that most of us get a LD on our back or in an up right position. im curious on what positions other people LD on. the back or up right may be most commen or the main or the only lol. i dont know though what do ya all think.

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

Hmmm, interesting. Like you said dreamenaider, everybody seems to be LDing from on their backs or partially upright (which is still on the back anyway). I never thought about trying it propped up but in light of ppl's experiences I think I'll 'sleep in the leather'( VagalTone) every morning when I try to WILD from now on. Anything to get me lucid. (I'd sleep under my bed if someone told me I would LD from down there - not sure what my wife would have to say about that though)

I dream in any position, back, right and left side and sleeping upwards, but sleeping sitting only makes dream fragments for me.
