      Question MILD visualization question

Yesterday I tried MILD for the 2nd time, and I had a good LD!

But there's something in La Berge's instructions that I dont understand.
      He says:
      -set intention
      -make the visualization

Repeat these steps until you fall asleep.

Ok, then.... you repeat your mantra and later you make your visualization, but for how long? when I sart to repeat my mantras? when I can't imagine more for the visualization? Could it work without visualization phase?

I think that yesterday I repeted my mantra for several minutes, later I made a little bit of visualization and repetead my mantras ans so on. But I dont know at what phase I fell asleep.

      Thank you

      NOTE: sorry for my english

I believe you are supposed to visualize the last dream you had until you fall asleep.
So just lie there and relax and imagine the last dream you had until you have actually entered it.

SLaB really didn't do a very good job of explaining MILD in ETWOLD. There seems to be so much confusion about it.
      VagalTone and Sageous like this.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

But I find it hard to visualize until I fall asleep because normally it takes me to long.

      I agree

      I agree
The important thing is that you set the intention.
Tell yourself that you are going to recognize that you are dreaming, and remind yourself of that for a while when you are falling asleep.
If you get tired of repeating this to yourself, then let it go and don't worry about anything and just fall asleep.

I would describe MILD like this:

      - When you wake from a dream, remain still a while and recall the dream (10sec-1min)

      - Record the dream in your dream journal (1-3min)

      - "Set intention" just means remember that you want to lucid dream. In your mind, say "I want to have a lucid dream and will perform MILD now". This seems obvious but the point is to remember to do what you planned instead of just going back to sleep mindlessly.

      - Revisit the previous dream. Identify dream signs or obvious events that could have made you lucid. Imagine yourself recognizing the sign and how you would like that dream to unfold with lucidity. Here you can play out your goals and desires. Visualization is good but it doesn't necessarily have to be a visual. It can be all thought, reasoning, and narrative, like thinking about a story you just heard. (1-5min)

      - You might fall asleep during the previous step. If not, you can shift to mantras/auto-suggestion. You can continue this until you sleep. If you want to revisit the previous dream some more or if you want to daydream about a dream you want to have, you can do that too. Again, this can be visualization or it can be just thoughts and narrative. (1min-until you fall asleep)

I am sure about illusion. I am not so sure about reality.
