Hello and welcome, MisakaMikoto.
2-4 hours sounds too little if you ask me, you should set your alarm a few hours later than that.
The optimal time in my mind is somewhere around 6-7 hours after you go to sleep, since that's when you tend to have your first really long dream periods.
After about 6-7 hours you will usually only feel mildly tired, and it should be much easier that way.
I would also recommend you to practice waking up without an alarm clock.
You have lots of natural awakenings throughout the night that you usually forget about since you instantly fall asleep after having them, but if you decide for yourself that you want to notice your awakenings then chances are you will be more observant when they happen later that night.
It's much more pleasant and convenient to wake up naturally, so make sure you consider practicing that in the future.
Also, don't rely too much on techniques and induction methods.
They are nice to have and everything, but they are just terms for various ways to increase your self-awareness in dreaming, and trying induction methods one by one can sometimes become too mechanical.
You would earn a lot from experimenting with your own ideas as well, and asking yourself what you could do to increase that self-awareness.
In fact, simply deciding for yourself that you really want to realize that you are dreaming the next time you dream can get you very far - it's all about intent!
Also, make sure you don't rush it - remember to appreciate your ordinary dreams as well, because they are perfect practice material for lucid dreams, since they let you become more familiar with your dreams in general.
