      What's happening!?

So I don't have lucid dreams anymore! Since like two months ago, more or less, there's no way for me to lucid dream, even though I'm doing the same things as before and even trying new things to see it they worked.

Has this happened to anyone? Any tips, recomendations? Whatever! I'm desperate to be lucid again

      Hi,

What kind of technique did you try before?
And what were you trying recently?
      I'm back! Again? Uhhh..

On the way to lucidity, there is often an unknown factor that was the cornerstone on why you were LDing. This small thing leaving or changing will make your LD rate drop. This is why until you find that cornerstone, you must keep adding things and rearranging what you are doing until you find something that really makes you lucid. Until you hit a certain amount of lucids, you really need to be constantly reevaluating what you are doing.

There was a time when I'd go to sleep and say ''I'll have a lucid dream'' and I'd have it, that simple! But it doesn't work anymore. I meditate every night and try to focus and tell myself to have lucid dreams, also practice ADA and my awareness of my surroundings it quite higher than before, my dreams are more real but I just don't have lucid dreams. I don't really know what should I do, I want to try to focus after WBTB but I stopped noticing when I wake up.

Well, I have more lucids when I had a better schedule because of school, maybe now that I'm returning the rate will increase.

Did you used to WBTB all the time?

Not really, only a few times I tried it trying to WILD.

It is impossible really for me to find out what you used to do and what you do now and what is missing. It could always be that you are trying without emotion, or too much habit and not really anything else in there.

I even have more emotion now that I know how they are and can't have them! I already said, I just used to tell myself that I'd have one and it worked, but now it doesn't, I've been lately trying other techniques like FILD, but nothing. I stopped long ago writing on a dream journal, I'm gonna write them again to see if it helps.

Along with "how do I fall asleep", we need a sticky "why am I dry?" thread.

This year, I've had a dry spell that lasted nearly a month in one case. In *lots* of cases 2-3 weeks dry. It sucks, no doubt.

In diagnosing non-lucid times, it pays to be dispassionate and objective. You want results, so don't fool yourself into saying "I'm doing all I can! No matter what, I can't lucid dream!"

If that *really* were true, well then, there's nothing you can do about it! However, I believe there are sound causes of dry times.

First, though, it's important to note: there's only one person who can help you: you! You must honestly self-evaluate. You've been around a while, you know all the standard recommendations: make a list, and see how you're doing on each one. (Sleep schedule, sleep quality, stress, determination, recall, intent, etc.).

If there's one common trait I've seen in people who LD frequently, it's obsession with dreaming: they spend large amounts of their time thinking about dreaming: chatting, reading DJs, *writing* DJs, day work, night work (that means WBTB!). Searching non-stop to find something, *anything* that helps to build and maintain that deep inner need.

I think that to achieve high levels of regular success in LDing, LDing must, for you, become a *need*, not just a want or a desire. For *needs*, people change their lives. For wants, desires, they can go a bit on the back burner. So you must create that need.

Not DJing I think is a sign of an internal demotion of the importance of LDing to you. Really get excited about dreams and dreaming again. Love all your dreams, even the non-lucids.

Ctharlie recently had some posts about dropping techniques: the gist is that all you really need is strong intent (comes from need), and a non-anxious, confident, non-stressed approach.

YAYAYAYAYAY I had one! Finally, I couldn't believe it, I was counting my fingers and was like... 4..5..6 no way, 4..5..6 YAY I'M DREAMING!

I stopped using a DJ because at that time my recall was quite good and I became tired of writing everything, but I liked it so I'll start again soon. Thanks for the tips and will think more about it and reevaluate myself and my intentions.
