A voice in a dream tried to tell me how to become lucid

Have you ever experienced something like this? Last night I had a bunch of fairly vivid dreams, and right before I woke up I heard a voice trying to tell me how to do in order to turn an ordinary dream into a lucid dream. I remember it told me to imagine as vividly as possible that I was "inside" the last dream and that I could feel the scent of the air, and basically try to imagine as many things about the dream as possible. Then suddenly it turned into some kind of meditation practice where the voice told me to "take deep breaths and imagine that I am moving around in that dream", and it almost succeeded, although I woke up shortly after that. It was a pretty interesting experience.

I have had similar occurrences, but mostly DCS telling me I am dreaming, or reminding me to RC. Sounds like maybe one of the WILD guides got embedded in your SubC. Regardless, cool experience!

This happened to me during my first ever lucid dream 2 years ago. In my dream I was looking at a strange book and in it I saw the image of hands from a first person perspective. I understood that the dream was guiding me on how to become lucid. Looking at my hands was the first technique that introduced me to lucid dreaming. Other than that the only circumstances like this was when the dream helped me do something in the dream, like dream control. For example, there was a time when I failed to fly (hardly ever happens) and a DC that was sitting down outside a cafe across the street just looked at me and shouted out "super power!" which I understood that I was to do the same. I did the same thing and when I attempted to fly I succeeded.

Cool to hear your own experiences of this. I know Robert Waggoner often talks about something that he calls an "awareness behind the dream" - a kind of subconscious awareness that acts independently and is a "silent observer", as he calls it, during the days. I think this is a very fascinating idea - of course, it is slightly controversial, but it is tempting to believe in it when you have these dream experiences where a voice seems to come to your aid.

Yeah, this happened to me as well . I was in a regular dream, in a forest. I heard a voice that guided me step by step. It said "Rub your hands together. You may see your vision getting clearer." (etc...) It was really cool. Maybe the voice in your dream was your dream guide. If so, congrats! Dream guides can be hard to meet.
