During the day, I practice mindfulness whenever I think about it. I focus on making my reality checks more about quality than quantity, by making each one last for about 3+ minutes and focusing heavily on both my surroundings and my own senses, while really questioning whether I'm dreaming or not.
At night, I don't really do much of anything while I'm initially falling asleep, though occasionally I think about dreams I'd like to have and different lucid goals. Then, I WBTB after about 4 and a half hours. I get up and go to the bathroom, and then stay up for usually about 30 minutes. During this time, I write out any dreams I had while I was asleep, write out a fictional DJ entry in order to inspire a similar real dream, and/or read other members' DJ entries on the forum. After 30 minutes, I lay back down and imagine the dreams I just had/wrote/read and reimagine them as lucid dreams, and walk through what I would've done in them had I been lucid. Then, when I feel like I might fall asleep soon, I put a hand on my chest and count my heartbeats, while repeating my mantra that I will know that I'm dreaming. This sometimes works as an anchor and causes me to occasionally WILD, but more often I just fall asleep and (hopefully) have a DILD.
When I wake up, I open my DJ app on my phone and write out short notes of the dreams I just had. The notes don't have to have a huge amount of detail, usually just single words or phrases are fine - just enough so I can remember the full dream in my head later when I reread it. Then, if the dream is really special, I type out the full thing on my DV DJ later when I get the chance, based on the short notes I left myself.
That's the nitty gritty details of my method. It obviously isn't 100% (especially when early mornings/tiredness/dry spells/life gets in the way), but 90% of lucid dreaming is experimentation and finding what method works for you. I'd encourage you to figure out your own method of lucidity, as my way surely doesn't work for everyone. The most important things to include in your method would be consistent dream journaling and some way of setting your intention (mantras/RCs/mindfulness/ADA/etc.). Other than that, it's basically up to you.
