      What shall i start with?

I have roughly 1 LD every week or 2 which annoys me...i want to be able to have one every night. It may seem obvious but i wanna trail myself to know i am dreaming nearly everytime im dreaming.Whats the main thing i haveto learn in order to know quiet easily that im dreaming everytime. All my LDs are due to DILD's and i have an ok dream recall and do RC's every hour when at work.I do awareness exercises before i go to sleep and do things with my left hand sometimes in order to think into what im doing more with the things we take for granted like brushing teeth etc.....whats the main goal i need to focus on in order to get to my goal?? Like i said i want to know that im dreaming everytime im dreaming or enough times so i have one every 2 or 3 days.thanks

What you do while you're awake doesn't matter towards lucid dreaming unless it changes what you do while you're dreaming. Like a dream, you can intend to catch a bus all day, only to still miss it if you aren't paying attention or forget it's one when it comes.

So, rather than only doing whatever awareness exercises before you dream, try doing these awareness exercises while you're dreaming. If you forget to do them while you're dreaming, ask yourself why you forgot to do them and try to make the adjustment for the next dream. This is the track you need to be on.

I know everyone is different and u hope you dont find this rude but due to your lucid count i am assuming your quiet the lucid dreamer so due to my curiosity taking over i want to know
What made you so good at LD any techniques you follow and how many lucid dreams would you say you have a week? I think my road would haveto be awareness in the day and ofcourse in my dreams...thanks =)

I got good at LD, induction anyway, by trying out different things, trying to stick with what was working for me while scrapping what wasn't. Techniques I follow mostly revolve around variations of MILD and SSILD. Doing this, I've been averaging 7 lds/week for the last couple of years.

As I said, I'm always changing my exact technique, but right now, it's listening to the environment around me as I'm falling asleep, not stopping until I find myself dreaming, while trying to RC upon awakenings to catch the false awakenings which I believe the SSILD aspect of the technique causes.

Don't be afraid to scrap or change something that's not working in search for something better. If nothing changes, it will stay the same.

Hi Dolphin, im sorry to do this to you but i have a feeling that your technique which seems to use SSILD at its core and the information / experience you have could make for a really helpful 'tutorial' for many people. I have seen great tutorials by Billybob, sageous and kingyoshi etc and feel that you could really help beginners as SSILD is now so popular and people using SSILD are always tempted to WILD from it when th conditions are right

For me, what I do ( a newbie of 4 months) is I SSILD when i first go to sleep (not to get lucid but to help fall asleep faster) I then wake up about 4 hours into sleep naturally, get up for 10 mins and SSILD again hoping to induce a DILD. The about 2 hours after that I have another natural awakening and get up for 10 mins, this time however, when I SSILD i try to turn it into a WILD as I know im right on top of REM at this point. Ive only succeed once as Im unsure of how to best utilize SSILD for a WILD,

You say that you listen to 'the environment' until you are in a dream. All i have for external sounds is a tick tock clock but I also can summons up an internal sound of 'hissing' in my ears.

I guess what im asking if / when you get time if you could post a detailed 'tutorial' or description of your SSILD / MILD methods that you generally use which would include the following:

How many times a night do you follow your technique
What sounds do you use and what other sounds may work for a beginner?
How do you keep from falling unconscious whilst 'listening in'
How many lucid dreams did you have each week when starting out and how quickly it progressed
How do you mix MILD with SSILD?

Thi is a BIG ask I know, it sounds like an interview and I feel a bit embarrassed by asking this of you but there is no 'sticky' or great tutorial of SSILD anywhere. I know cosic.iron had the main description but he is very rigid in his blog whereas you are mixing it up with MILD & WILD to create a SSILD thats flexible to cater for other situations. Ive always though that MILD could be added to SSILD cycles but cosic.iron says to never do that.

So doplhin, i feel that you could have a great SSILD tutorial within you that could really help 100's of people.

If this is something that you simply dont have time for then i respect that and would just ask you about your 'listening in' technique when WILDing.

      Many thanks Dolphin
Ezzo (1 LD per week using SSILD)

I starting something for you, ezzolucid. http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...ml#post2173709

Clidu, you could also check some of ezzolucid's threads. He seems to be the trail and error type like myself and has some good ideas.

Best way I would say is practice all day awareness. Here's a very good guide: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...kingyoshi.html

Seriously, it's been the best method for me. It drastically improves awareness that I don't even do reality checks to become lucid. You simply just know you're dreaming since you've really trained your awareness to identify your surroundings
