      New technique or not??

My recall has gone to poo again but i know how to bring it back.....till then i have been doing something new which i guess is classed as a mix of things.
I lay down at night..close my eyes and litrally walk the dogs in my head the same route i usualy take them but do it all in my head from putting there leads on in the house to the feeling of my putting my bug warm coat on and just visualising as much as i can as i walk the dogs in my head....i dont know what i will gain from this...maybe increase my abilitty to m.i.l.d? Or like i said maybe its a mix of a few different things? =)

Sound like IILD (incubation induced...) or VILD (visualization induced...) - depending on if the visualization is something you incubate during the day or not (e.g. every time you do it, or just mentally).

Both of these techniques are closely related to MILD. These three techniques (IILD, VILD, MILD) can be done during the day and / or before heading to sleep. Each of them also has a WILD version, which is basically the same thing, just done as you fall asleep (preferably during a WBTB). If you do the WILD version then either you'll carry your awareness into the dream, or lose it but increase your chances to have a DILD later on. If you do the normal version - it will just increase the DILD chances.

Either way, haven't done these for a while, but back in the day had some success with them (specifically their WILD version).
