      Strong heartbeats during WILD attempt

      Hey guys

Last night i tried to WILD and everything goes as planned, i maintained a relaxed body and mind and start visualization, the last thing i remember before transition kicks in was a glass of tea and then the picture start to darkening in center.

After that I feel my heart start beating so strongly and fast, the picture change oddly and i still knew that in what stage i am so i tried to be calm but after six or seven images that comes and goes then it was an "Absolute darkness", Nothing happened and still i could felt my heart beats very strongly and fast it was kinda painful, i standstill for a moment then i decided to wake up and opened my eyes then my heart rate started to decrease in awake world.

Anyone know what happened? Do you guys experienced that strange and powerful Heartbeats during your attempts ???

It's just a new experience, so your mind doesn't know what it is. That makes it afraid. The more you practice the less fear you will have and the smoother WILD will be. Oftentimes, the "pounding heart" may not even be your real heartbeat, but an imagined one. You can just mentally say to yourself, "Relax" and let go of wondering if and what and so on. Just be there with the beating heart. If you feel embodied, you can connect with your breathing, or if you feel like you are basically in a dream space, then connect with a calming mantra ("Just this," or maybe a sacred mantra or word if you have a faith or tradition). Fear naturally resolves itself if we let it.

I didn't experience faster heart beat, but I did have faster breathing.

I think that happens when we enter a dream. And you are saying that it happened when you saw images. The images were already a dream that was starting. The darkness afterwards was perhaps a break in dreams.

Next time when you are seeing images or darkness, try to stand up just by thinking it. If you are indeed dreaming, you will stand up with your dream body and you will realize that and basically you will be in a lucid dream. If you are not asleep yet, nothing will happen, and yo can continue with your WILD. Keep trying to stand up or even roll out of your bed and have fun when that actually happens. So much fun!
