97% of the people won't believe this triggers LD

This night I woke up from a dream. It was a rather dull/average dream. And I felt like I could go back there if I put in the will/effort. I even thought of making it lucid and changing the dream because it was so dull. But I got lazy and thought it was too much work and I'd rather just fall asleep and black out sort of.Too bad because this could have been one of my first DEILDs

The thing is, I haven't put much effort except for a little intention to LD these last past days. Except in a chat I mentioned that when I wake from lucid dreams and hold on to them I can re-enter them at will. I did not put much thought into it yet, this little re-affirmation of facts must have been the trigger for my DEILD last night because it was floating into my conscious awareness at night. That this simple re-affirmation has such a powerful effect that it almost has me into a LD. Is simply astonishing really. Maybe that's the key. Simply remembering or believing that you can LD and HOW TO DO IT. And having this fact float into ur awareness might be enough to LD.

Anyone else have this little nuggets that trigger LDs ? There must be a 1000 ways really

Yes it actually can be really easy to lucid dream. Usually for me it's enough to set the right intention in a certain way.
      Good work! Keep going

Thank you so much for the support guys. And girls. It is probably my new web browser but I can't actually see profile pics on any of y'all. Must be nice just to be able to set an intention and have it happen. Must be awesome to live that way. I might try Mugwort 2. I've done Kirkii and Silence capensis and Calea Z. Anyway definetely encouraging me to dream right now and come back here.

Tonight Ima watch a movie I picked out just for dreaming (Starship troopers Actually) and going to bed early and everything. Fingers crossed. Will come back here

I think you're right. Sounds a lot like how I get the 8 - 20 LDs a year I typically get despite not actively trying to LD. Usually I'll get a string of like 3 or 4 of them in a single night or two nights in a row. What I find happens most often is that I get a random DILD for no particular reason. Rather than get the DILD because something crazy or weird happens and I realize I must be dreaming, I suddenly just recognize the feeling that that altered state of consciousness provides. Sometimes this happens and I shrug it off, but usually I suddenly realize I'm dreaming before I'm even aware that I unconsciously recognized what it felt like to be dreaming. Normally, then, the dream ends within about 5 minutes maximum, and since I had only been consciously aware for a few minutes, I stay that way while the dream ends and all through the waking process. This allows me to hold completely still, not even moving my eyes, and nearly instantly find myself in sleep paralysis/REM atonia.

From there it's simple to achieve a DEILD/WILD, since as far as I can remember, my technique for entering a dream from SP/RA has never failed. A good portion of the time simply thinking about the dream I was just in causes another dream to form, but if not, I simply imagine/expect/"know" that a vortex is by my feet or head and that when it sucks me up I'll be in a dream. So, one random 5 min DILD usually gets me at least a 10-20 min DEILD as well, and if that happens it's not uncommon for me to get a second DILD/DEILD later that night/morning. My previous experience in the altered states (lucid dreams, REM atonia, hypnagogia, hypnopompia) and knowledge regarding lucid dreaming is certainly enough on its own to provide me with lucid dreams, so I don't feel like you're far off in your sentiment.

Such a great input Snoop. I can't stress enough how valuable this information is to me.

I find I only rarely enter into SP. Sometimes I find myself in SP at the tail-end of a lucid dream. I will wake up in false awakenings completely paralyzed or at least partially. Most of the time scary. Then I find that the energy to dream is fading with the SP. And the SP will slowly lose it's grip on me. But when I enter SP before sleep. usually the tail-end of an Acid trip will induce it. I will lucid dream 100% and I do not know why. I will simply fall asleep either into intense nightmares and wake up again until I either choose to stay awake or face the nightmare-fantasy and swap it over into an LD. There's really no other choice.

Can you describe sensual perception of this vortex/wild method you are using? I wild once and simply a dream image was already playing in my fantasy and I simply merged with the motions. There was a gap in memory either or perception before entering fully in virtual dream.

Where did you get ur vortex technique from? A foaf I know mentions a vortex below and above the body. he names it energy source or source of energy. the below one he calls the earth and the above something else. I personally haven't seen it or know how to use it but that might be useful to know for the future. Anyway , doesn't matter.

Actually, the DEILD/unsuccesful DEILD I had last night. Showed very significant signs of SP. I might be nitpicking but I think it's useful technically. If not, scroll over please. I'll try to describe it; After I wake from a dream. It feels like parts of my body is numb and when I move my body a little bit I break the "spell of SP" so to speak. There's a certain soft-ness and comfort in the sensual perception of the SP. It's interesting because I did not draw the parallel here with SP. So a DEILD might be an impartial SP-induced LD/WILD. Imo.

But the DILD is a different beast entirely. I say that the general rule is that once you have 1 DILD you will end up with a few DEILDs. The key is getting to that one DILD. I think part of the problem is not falling asleep too deeply. I think I may focus on this first and foremost. I sleep like a log and it's frustrating. I fall asleep during the day and part of it I think is having an active life to begin with to really spur Lucid dreams and Imagination/energy. I think confidence is the second key here. You build up a lot of confidence having so many Lucid dreams that you now know for a fact that you can LD and what you do with it. This helps to maintain an attention-span strong enough to maintain the energy throughout half a night.
But intuively I suspect there is a whole bio-(al)chemical formula that can be adressed to help with the physical energy that is required to break the barrier within sleep and wake. lol but that is way too much for my mind to fully grasp at this point. Idk felt like saying that.

Sorry for winding out there. I did not experience much in the way of lucid dreams 2day unfortunately despite my initial enthusiasm. But I will persist. I have nothing better to do anyway.

Well, the vortex method was something I came up with the first time I induced REM Atonia on purpose. I had experienced it a handful of times before then, but up until that point it wasn't something I experienced because I was trying to. I found myself in REM Atonia when I was in the middle of establishing the base of my WILD techniques back when I was first starting, and reverse blinking after doing a WBTB induced REM Atonia. Once in it, I had no idea what I was supposed to do to transition into a dream, I hadn't really thought things that far through. I had just been exposed to the concept of using expectation and the power of suggestion as a method of dream control. I had already been having success using mantras (trying to MILD) to wake myself up two or three times a night, usually around the same times. I don't know if I was actually causing that by the power of autosuggestion or if it was just a matter of luck, but I chose to believe that it was my desire that was causing me to wake up in the early mornings as I was. Since I believed in my ability to use expectation and get results, I decided to try out the first idea that came to my head... what did I have to lose? So, I expected or kind of just knew/believed a vortex like a blackhole or a whirlpool in space was floating just above and behind my head, and that it was going to suck me in. I also "knew" once it sucked me in, that I'd find myself in a lucid dream.

With that, I gave it a shot, and found that it worked just as I believed it would. It's never not worked any of the times I've tried it, and I've since tried out a few other methods that I've found worked as well. I've always had more control than usual of the REM Atonia experience though. Moving is just a matter of wanting to or not. It may not be terribly easy every time, but if I want to move to break out of the experience, I can (I've only actually done it on purpose a handful of times). Unless I've taken a psychoactive OTC, prescription, or psychoactive supplement, I'm usually able to move very easily and end the experience whenever I want to. Very, very rarely do I ever have a scary REM Atonia experience if I've not taken something or stopped taking something that's caused it. Usually I find the experiences fun and the state itself to be very comfortable and... familiar (not sure that describes it that well but I can't do better than that).

There are plenty of times I've experienced REM Atonia and I couldn't actually feel the normal signs of it, like my body wouldn't really feel paralyzed and there won't be vibrations. Usually, though, I can tell during or right after the experience that I was in REM Atonia or some kind of hypnagogic/altered state. Sometimes I get RA a few times and don't recognize it's happening but feel like I'm awake in my bed and feel things that aren't really happening, like just yesterday morning when I thought my dog got up and was licking the blanket over my feet and that my arm was touching something in front of my bed. I woke up right after and it took me a second to realize I had actually been in REM Atonia, but once I realized it, it was impossible to mistake... dreaming and being in REM Atonia/a hypnagogic state has a very particular feeling that I can recognize if only I have something raise my awareness a little bit. It often let's me know I've actually slept a little bit on nights where I feel like I didn't sleep. Chances are I have random memory gaps I wouldn't recognize if I wasn't looking for them and get the slight feeling you get after being in that altered state.

Sorry my reply was so long this time, lol

That's very interesting, and I actually do something similar that I always have a very hard time explaining it to other people. It has to do with the third eye or just moving your eyes up to the center of your eyebrows. There's a feeling I get that If I do this a second after I slip out of a dream or lucid dream, and stringly focus on that area, I suddenly see myself traveling through a wormhole and appearing inside the lucid dream again. Like I said it's so hard to explain but that's the best I can describe it.
