      My first WILD attempt

Hey everyone, last night I tryed my first wild, I woke up like 4 am suddently (I hadn't though about waking up in the night) so I decided to give it a try. I started to relax by concentrating in my breath and this is what happened:

      1) I started feeling relaxed and I said to my self 'My body is getting heavier' and it became so I didn't have to worry of me moving myself.

      2) My hearth started beating so fast and strong and I started feeling that panic feeling on my stomach.

      3) My legs started to shake and my jaw shaked a little bit.

      4) It all suddently stopped.

      5) I started to see some crazy lights comming and going.

      6) I started to hear sounds arround me. (very real sounds, I heard someone walking outside my bedroom, opening the door and walking to my window - my floor is made of wood so it makes that *crack* sound).

      7) I started to daydream - hard to concentrate in this part.

8.) I started to feel that sensation that my entire body was getting numb.

      9) The sensation went stronger and stronger until I felt like leaving my body (one of the greatest sensations I have ever felt) but I got too excited and too much worried about falling asleep that lost it!!!

      ---

      Now the begginer's annoying questions:

      . Is my WILD ok?

. Was I going to LD if I hadn't lost my concentration?

. My greatest fear was to eventually fall asleep. Any tips?

      Thanks! -Sorry about my english

      Nice first try.

I tried last night--slept for 5 hours, woke up; lid still in bed for about 10 minutes with my eyes closed and never saw anything, so I just went back to sleep.

Your WILD sounds great. Next time, when you get to #9 you could try doing a reality check (like plugging your nose and trying to breathe through it--this doesn't require being able to see anything). You might find that you've actually entered a lucid dream. Try to stay calm also.

      Augh! Why?

That's your first time, and I've been trying for well over a month. I've never gotten anywhere close to what you've done! Heck, I barely even get to #3! Never seen HI, never heard any weird noises....

      Oi.

Anyways, it sounds to me like you're doing very well. Keep it up!

How long did step 1 take you? How long does it usually take you to fall asleep and how long does it take you to relax for WILD?

I was quite fast, I'm used to meditation. And I have a good mind control, I can feel anything at anytime I want, so I guess It helps me.

Long does it usually take me to fall asleep? Depends on a lot of stuff, sometimes it takes like a couple of hours or it can be very fast. Excitement = awakeness...

Relaxation was fast because I was already relaxed but It usually don't take long, just try not to think of any problems you have, try to say 'The next 30 minutes I'm free of any responsibility.'

Don't try to do it thinking 'Hey! I'm going to WILD and have a LD! Hooray!', just clear your mind and go throught every step of WILDing, don't think about the next one, you'll know when it's time for it.

hey, i don't feel so bad now.
i tried the Wild the other night too and i too lost it because i did not know what to do after i got to seeing the lights and hearing the sounds. But the thing that i'm starting to figure out is that for me the wild only works when my body is really tired but my mind is still wide awake. How well i tried the technique at 2:30 am right after i finished working on a research paper and all i can say is that my brain was still working fast and i was not sleepy at all. then when i tried it the following night i just could not focus becuse i really tired from the previous night. i don't know but i hope that i don't have to stay up really late reading something so that my wild can work.
i am trying other things like maybe exercising at 8:00pm for about an hour that way my body will be tired, but my mind will be wide awake.

Well you are very close! Once you hit the stage where you body starts getting numb/vibrating is the time to enter the dream. Think of it as your gate. I tried opening my "dream" eyes and found myself in my room just like normal. Only I was in my dream. Try it, do a RC and then have fun! I just woke up after four hours of sleep and am about to try it myself.

      You are very close! Congratulations!

You describe the feelings of WILD pretty much flawlessly. Just follow the advice of Hobus, I say.

I don't think I'm going to use WILD it sounds not only scary, but difficult. I'll take my time with MILD and RCs

I have to correct you there.

WILD is one of the coolest things which can ever happen to you, especially if you start getting vibrations etc.

It's only scary if you aren't prepared to encounter the unknown, which you shouldn't be, to be honest.

It isn't actually that hard if you know what you're doing and mix it with WBTB, and it gives you some of your most vivid Lucid Dreams.
