      Am i dream retarded?

I've read and printed a few tutorials. for the past couple weeks i've been setting my alarm clock for 90 minute intervals. usually i just turm my alarm clock off and fall asleep again before i can even begin to think about recalling my dreams. so far i've only had a few images from my dreams. so far bad recall and zero lucidity.

and sometimes when i do my affirmations to remember and write down my dreams. after i just lie awake and can't fall asleep at all. it's like the more desire i have towards dreaming, the more i seem to stay awake and forget any dreams i have had.

      any suggestions?

You should consider the relaxation techniqes. Remember to Try not to get to frustraited and dont force yourself to relax. Dont forget practice makes perfect!

Edit: And your not dream retarted, some people are better at lucid dreaming than others, but that doesnt mean you cant ! Just keep trying untill you sucssed, im counting on you .
...Even though I try to think, my brain wont let me.

Don't pressure yourself, y'know? Relax, and tell yourself that you have nothing to lose. At this point, i don't think it would be very helpful to set your alarm each 90 minutes. I suggest you start by doing Reality Checks, and condition yourself to question reality.
Then you could set your alarm after 5 hours of sleep (Very loud alarms aren't helpful), stay in bed and keep your eyes shut. The idea is to stay in your head and not be bothered by external stimuli. You should be able to recall some images. I suggest you write down anything that comes into your mind, even emotions, etc. Don't expect to fill in pages at the first attempt, keep in mind that patience always pays off.

THere is no such thing as "dream retard" so don't give up. People usually start to have results when they forget about the whole thing, which leads to the fact that they were over-pressuring themselves.

Don't interrupt your early nights sleeping, but wait until after the fifth hour and then set the alarm for 30 minute intervals.

Then the alarm may wake you up at inopertune moments. You might try the "Drinking Plenty of Water" method for waking up at the end of REM Periods. You will wake up at the end of dreams so you can go and pee.

Remember to supplement your Potassium if you drink a great deal of water.

Do you happen to smoke any weed? I found that recent or regular smoking caused a complete blackout in dreams from night to night, or just horrible recall in general.

My recall is about average of any dreamer but I found (when I did it) that keeping a dream journal for just the first few nights really helped with enhancing vividness and recall. You probably know this, but deffinitly write down even the slightest imagry and in a short manner of time I'm sure your recall will begin to show noticable increase.
