I have to constantly change my methods to keep having lucids. Yesterday I tried a new thing. I took a bandanna and put sassafras scent on it (I just happened to have some of the oil handy; nothing special about that particular scent as far as I know.) I kept the cloth with me and smelled it periodically (just a few times, I kept forgetting about it) and whenever I smelled it, I did an RC and thought about dreaming. Then when I inevitably woke up about 2:00 AM, I put the cloth on my pillow so I could smell it. I didn't want to keep it on my pillow all night, because I thought I would just get acclimated to it. I wanted to save it for a good REM time. I then had a lucid, not a great one, but it did work.
(Summary of lucid dream: I woke up in a strange bed that had like mesquito netting on it; I became lucid, but I fell off the bed and got trapped between the wall and the mattress and I was tangled in the netting. I tried to relax and get out of the situation without losing lucidity, but I failed.)
Anyway, I am going to try this for a while and see what happens.
