      Last night was my closest ever, so no!

      I was literally on the brink of an LD. At one point, I thought i'd actually entered one, since I couldnt hear my breathing anymore, and my vision had kinda 'zoomed in' on the blackness xD Soon I could hear the usual 'ear noises' though, and realised I wasnt

      Were you to just return to sleep rather than try this, how long would it take you to drop off? For me it would be almost instantly...

      Ok, succeeded in a WILD this morning.

      This is what happened. I woke up at 7:30AM to go to class. I came back around 10:00AM, and was tired around 10:30AM, so I decided to take a nap. I set my alarm to 12:00PM thinking that would be enough time to WILD. Well I'm laying there getting very comfortable. I maybe switched position 2-3 times, before I really started to doze off. So, I go off in my fantasy. This time I missed the HI changes initially. I was at my old middle-school, watching various activities going on (I was not actually there, I was viewing all of this). Then I saw this guy and girl making out, and all of a sudden I was the guy. I still didn't notice anything, I was in the dream now! Shortly after, I thought "whoa, I'm supposed to trying a WILD right?", and with that my brief dream ended and I woke up. BUT, I was laying in bed thinking "no way, I'm not getting up yet, I can still do it", and I had the weirdest feeling of all at this point. I could of swore I felt my physical body laying (not in sleep paralysis, but I did not move, but I could tell I was still in an altered state of conciousness), but I kind of "focused" into myself (hard to describe), and with that I started to feel vibrations all over my body, and was able to float up off the bed, and onto the floor. I had garbage vision at first, but soon it cleared up on its own, and I was off. One thing I did was jump from a 10 story window and WOW THE Gs I felt was amazing and fun. I hit the ground with a painless "plop". I need to go the top of the Empire State Building or something and jump off that in my next LD

      By the time this was all over, it was 11:30AM.

      If only I could remember to go through mirrors in my lucids now...

It's pretty amazing how quickly your mind will take over (or retake over) what is going inside of your head. This sort of sounds like MILD, it is similar. Your mind is still in state where it wants to resume the dream, and if you help along, well, I think you can guess what happens next. What differs from the ordinary WILD is You may completely skip over Sleep Paralysis and enter the dream. I've had dreams begin with me attempting WILDs... I think that pretty much says I completely skipped over the transitonal phase while what felt like being concious the entire time.[/i]

      Last night tried something a little different. during the day I set my cell phone to remind me to do RC's every 30 or 60 min. So I thought I would set it for every 90min while I was sleeping. Thinking I would do an RC and not actualy wake up. Well I woke up so I did a nose and hand RC then tried the MILD-WILD. It worked at the first 90min reminder but I was foiled by a False Awakening. Then I at some point I took my phone out of my pocket and didnt get any more remeinders. I think I was too tired during the first 90 min cycle so I think tonight I will try this agian but skip the first cycle. Again so darn close but I will get it eventualy. I realy want to learn to WILD. DILD's are too random for me.

      I also prefer the "out-of-body-experience" feeling that usually accompanies the beginning of all my WILDs

      I think im going to try this tenchinque to induce a wild (never tried or had one myself) but im worries about the SP. i hate the feeling of being of loosing control of what i can do and in SP im worried that ill be stuck and wont be able to wake myself up immediatly if i need to. i may sound a little paranoid but just my worry. but WILD seems the way to go for me.

      5-40 minutes (depending on how tired I initally am).

      I'd say the average is about 10-15 minutes, but that's because I almost go back to sleep immediatly after my cell phone wakes me up. It usually takes over half and hour if I've been awake for over an hour or two.

      And here's a tip to maybe make this easier

      <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE("From the Main Post")</div>
      Here&#39;s a Tip:" After waking up, if you lose conciousness pretty quickly, set your alarm to go off again in 15 minutes. If you lost conciousness before it went off, chances are you already began dreaming, or atleast you were very close (unconciously). But anyway, when this wakes you up, you&#39;ll enter your HI/dream stage a lot quicker. You&#39;ll also feel like crap waking up to the alarm, but it&#39;s worth a shot&#33;[/b]
      And this was updated - hopefully makes things a little more clear.

      <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE("From the Main Post")</div>
      2. Think about a fantasy or memory to allow my mind to drift. Memories are great because they are already there and require less thought then creating some kind of fantasy. You must disassociate the best you can from the physical world around you, and this includes your physical body. By that I mean, if you constantly have on the back of your mind the thoughts of trying to catch the signs of progression during WILD, you are not doing this correctly. When you are daydreaming in class, are you sitting there thinking about the teacher is talking about? Didn&#39;t think so&#33; Well same concept applies here. The easiest way to do this, is just think of a memory or fantasy, or go to sleep as you normally would.[/b]

      well im gona try this. is this pretty much correct on what i do?

      1. wake up 4-5 hours after i fell asleep and stay awake for 15 minutes then get comforotable.

      2.think of a happy memory and think about it

      3. wait till your mind starts wandering and check your real senses every couple minutes to see if anything is going on.

      4. keep waiting and just play along with whatever your mind starts thinking up

      5. wait till you feel the rushing or sp

      6. wait for the blackness and kinda go into it?

      I think this thread may be helpful to some struggling with WILD. if
      you see blade5x&#39;s success rate, i&#39;ll bet many will like to try it.

      This hasn&#39;t worked for me yet, but just today I caught myself "sinking" into SP.
      I&#39;ll keep working on it&#33;

      If I REALLY need to get up for something, I put my alarm clock all the way across the room or something, so I actually have to get out of bed. Then, I don&#39;t lay down, (Or I lay in my hammock) until I&#39;m fully awake.

      just something that I noticed when reading your guide...

      Once you said the same word twice in a row... (wish I was energetic enough to go back and find it... just got off work)

      Also, the word whether is spelt whether (as in whether or not) not weather. (sorry for being so pedantic, I just figured if it&#39;s a tut)

      Anyways, thanks alot&#33;

      I&#39;m going to try this ASAP, I did exactly this a week or so ago, but on first sleep. Images started going in front of me, and I was noticing it... and I let it go, and kind of tried to help it with a push (maybe it didn&#39;t want that)

      When it got to a point, where I was looking on a microwave and this newspaper was there with fluttering pages (controlled fluttering... akin to stop animation) and there was a drawing on it that was animating itself, I think I reached SP and tripped out, which brought me out of the whole thing.

      At that point I didn&#39;t have this guide though, so we shall see&#33;

      The MILD combo worked for me. It wasn&#39;t a strong control but I at least realized I was dreaming some point in the dream. First lucid in two months&#33; WOO&#33;

      This seems really cool&#33; Though I have one question:
      Waking up in the middle of the night every night, doesn&#39;t that kind of disturb your sleep so that you will get more tired next day?
      Currently practicing WILD. I quote Kaniaz who said it best: "The point of WILD is to piss me off". Though, I have not given up, far from it.

      It does tend to make me sleep about an hour longer on average to be honest (when I have the exrta time to sleep).

      Will it make you feel any worse waking up? Hmm... tough to answer because I always seem to feel like crap waking up early

      Overall affect over the day: very minimal if any at all. I don&#39;t feel any different. As long as my total deep sleep + rem sleep = 7 hours+, I&#39;ll last the next 15-16 hours of being awake.

      If anyone could help me out here I would really appreciate it.

      I try WILD every night, I can get to really intense HI, with Flashing lights, streaks of color and things like that, I also get a really intense falling feeling and I can feel the vertigo, I also felt like I was in a boat rocking side to side and going down a hill on a roller coaster, anyway, really intense.
      There was also a pulsating feeling through my spine, which I guess was the vibrations.

      I can never get farther then this howeever, scenes never form no matter how long I sit there, just intense imagery, rocking, and falling feelings, I get tired of this after a while and just not do it anymore, come back into consciousness, and try to fall asleep normally.

      Is there things that would aid me get farther?
      It&#39;s always smooth sailing right up until that point where there are no more progressions.
